What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to join the Verizon GTS Team. As a Technical Project Manager within the Global Technology Solutions team, you will partner with cross-functional leaders to implement & support programs, projects, portfolio applications & tools, business processes to enable Verizon to enter in the new era of growth and profitability. This translates business strategies/visions into systems & tools implementation road maps & plans as well as coordinate the execution of the roadmaps into quantifiable success through application/tools implementations, support and usage.

  • Partner with business units, application owners/custodian, and development teams to translate potential systems/tools/ideas & gaps into fully developed applications & tools solutions.
  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to executives along with preparing and completing the action plans, implementing into production, resolving problems, and completing pre/post audits with an iterative way of working.
  • Actively share ideas on process, tools and system improvements and facilitate implementation of the ideas through strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a Program Manager for medium to large scale initiatives – defining materials, delivery dates as well as implementation plans from inception to closure; using the Project and Software development life cycle methodologies & processes.
  • Develop and manage cross-functional/detailed project plans/delivery schedules, including project scope, resource requirements and integration efforts for flawless execution.
  • Own full program oversight responsibility. Create and maintain operational decks for Go to Market Operations, Strategy and Transformation initiatives including Executive Presentations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams on process/project/program development, administration and documentation.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact critical process/project/program deliverables.
  • Perform risk management and develop plans to minimize/mitigate risks.
  • Manage escalations, changes in scope, and monitoring of pre/post-deployment of initiatives & report to management.
  • Gather and analyze pre and post-performance metrics and report results for each initiative to stakeholders.
  • Seek industry and area best practices – determine the value and drive change standardization where appropriate to gain efficiencies.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, training decks, product roadmaps, systems/tools recommendations/implementation plans for solving business problems.
  • Prioritize actionable business improvement initiatives based on analysis of customer and internal employee feedback.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships/partnerships with all teams & impacted business units in order to assess and meet the needs of the business.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned initiatives, including participation on business initiative core teams.
  • Develop and facilitate training modules related to project/programs/applications and tools.
  • Manage project/program backlog, work with teams to develop estimates and inform stakeholders on regular project/program status.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Technical project management experience.
  • Experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Knowledge of project management systems such as JIRA / Confluence.
  • Teamwork & collaboration skills to work across organizations and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Communication & stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology.
  • Experience in a product/program management or consulting role.
  • Program/Project/Portfolio Management experience, including experience with cross-functional /cross-area programs/projects & portfolios.
  • Working knowledge of Waterfall/Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Behavior Driven Development and Test Driven Development methodologies.
  • Experience with Cucumber, Jerkin.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Applications including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint or other document preparation/project management/collaboration tools.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams. Ability to build inter-departmental relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving, conflict –management, organizational, interpersonal/presentation& time management skills.
  • Self-motivated; independent, organized and proactive; highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable when working across multiple project teams.
  • Results oriented, a strong sense of urgency, proactive and flexible.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate solutions and deadlines with others at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and havestrong customer focus.
  • Independent worker and strong decision-maker.
