What you’ll be doing...

With your technology management background, you will be responsible for device requirements and end to end certification of emerging device categories and technologies. Specifically, this role will drive development and certification of Cat-M/NB-IOT technology based trackers, wearable and home hubs. This role will also be responsible for defining functional requirements and experience for driving activations on eSIM/dual SIM based devices. You will work closely with internal and external cross functional teams to develop, certify and manage these new category of devices. Your work will help maintain Verizon’s leadership position by anticipating consumer needs and shaping our future offerings to meet them. Your vision and leadership will help us realize what’s next for Verizon.

  • Work closely with the device OEMs, chipset vendors and OS/platform vendors to architect and manage device requirements and certification for emerging device categories and technologies.
  • Responsible for device operations – provide feedback on product requirements, perform gap analysis and develop functional device requirements.
  • Responsible for end to end certification strategy and execution for all features and services supported by these devices/technologies.
  • Work with internal and external cross functional teams (Product Management/Development, Device lab, IT and Device Technology) to actively drive device commercialization plans.
  • Monitor device performance and manage software updates to address customer feedback.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Translated market knowledge and strategy into compelling stories and tools for the business.
  • Experience authoringdevice requirements and test plans for any technology.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree – more impressive if you have an MBA.
  • Digital experience and knowledge of trends and key business drivers.
  • Experience with Advanced LTE technology & technologies such as eDRX, PSM, MSA, MSB, SUPL over WiFi and LPPE Protocols.
  • Strong working knowledge on 5G Technology.
  • Juggled multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills, including the ability to understand and communicate highly complex technical information.
  • Eight or more years of systems engineering experience.
  • Three or more years Wireless/Telecommunications/Internet experience.
  • Knowledge on Advanced LTE, CAT M1, NBIOT, eSIM, Dual SIM Dual Standby and location algorithms.
  • Strong communication, presentation, decision making and negotiation skills.
  • Strong acumen in problem solving, managing priorities and commitment to quality & safety.
  • Experience in project management tools and techniques.
  • Passion towards learning about new wireless products, devices and software technology/application trends.
  • Ability to build relationships across the organization, work independently in a fast paced, demanding environment and undertake multiple initiatives.
  • Deliver business results through timely and quality decision making.
