What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Business Markets (VBM) is a newly created strategic business unit within Operations, to serve the wireline communications and networking technology needs of U.S.-based small and medium businesses, as well as the state and local government bodies. The Digital organization within IT will be focused on enabling an eco-system that hones in on digitizing the customer experience through technology with a Cloud-first and Mobile-first tenet, backed by analytics to enable new products, directional product bundles, and third-party solution – all to enable new revenue streams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document and maintain policies, processes and procedures.
  • Effectively plan and actively participate in meetings related to your areas of responsibility.
  • Provide technical consultation to individual contributors, and customers in areas of expertise.
  • AWS Infrastructure Support and Implementation
  • Jenkins jobs creation, maintenance, and support
  • Daily review of antivirus; antispam logs, file integrity monitoring logs, security logs, security patch management reports with follow-up on any systems
  • Weekly analysis of Network Intrusion Detection activity reports, local user account audit reports, local security group account membership audit reports, network shares audit report with follow-up on any unapproved or misconfigured shares
  • Administration of Vulnerability Management Program, scan target lists and groups, scan schedules andand tracking of actionable reported items for vulnerability remediation
  • Working support tickets with SDP/FARMS
  • Actively participate as Change Management liaison for department and adhere to all Change Management policies, process & procedures.
  • Actively monitor vendor updates for assigned systems and proactively keep all systems and related agents at current and supportable levels.
  • Perform administration and maintenance for assigned applications and services.
  • Ownership of management pod firewall access-control lists, standardization and optimization including review and approval authority for all proposed changes
  • Perform user administration and access management for assigned applications and services.
  • Administration of systems management accounts password compliance programs including:
  • Maintain internal communications on outages for assigned applications and services.
  • Manage vendor escalations for assigned applications and services.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis; document and present post-mortems for outages on assigned applications and services.
  • Plan system upgrades by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.
  • Develop, implement and maintain disaster recovery strategies for assigned critical applications and services.
  • Thoroughly document and manage activity for all Incidents, Service Requests and Change Requests according to VZ policy

What we’re looking for...

You'll Need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree of four or more years of experience
  • Excellenttechnical knowledge of most Microsoft and Red Hat Operating systems products.
  • Experience inLinux (RHEL), Windows Server, Scripting (PowerShell, python), IIS/Apache, Web/Application primary support role, AWS

Even Better if you have:

  • Troubleshooting skill sets would include: critical thinking, quick troubleshooting
  • Can deal with stressful/pressure situations while troubleshooting.
  • Know to communicate/work with multiple groups on a large scale to get tasks/issues/projects completed.
  • Be able to document clearly, as documentation would be needed on almost a daily basis (procedures/directions/etc).
  • Preferred BS Computer Science or related (not required)
  • Experience in Jenkins, Agile (Scrum), CICD, 24x7x365, .Net
  • Preferred, not required: (MCSA/MCSE, RHSA, AWS)
