What you’ll be doing...

You’ll join the Network Supply Chain Reverse Operations Team as a leader who will oversee spares inventory management activities. You’ll work cross functionally with external vendors and suppliers (e.g., UPS, Baxter) as well as with internal stakeholders such as field operations and maintenance engineering teams to deliver aggressive service level targets while maintaining minimum spares inventory levels. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for spares optimization software Baxter Prophet for both strategic and day-to-day activities and support. While maintaining day to day operations is paramount, you’ll be expected to develop spares management strategy for both RAN and Access/Core networks to take the business to the next level.

  • Develop, communicate and execute an overarching spares management strategy for the entire Network organization.
  • Perform configuration and maintenance of spares inventory optimization software Baxter Prophet.
  • Develop continuous improvement programs featuring quarterly business reviews and other periodic check-ins with Baxter to foster an environment of constant communication and collaboration.
  • Work closely with the Repair Team to achieve target inventory levels.
  • Prepare and publish metrics at operational and executive levels for different audiences including supply chain and network engineering.
  • Benchmark Verizon performance against similar companies.
  • Identify maintenance contracts that can be migrated to in-house processes, conduct the necessary analysis to support reasoning and build consensus with other Verizon stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver executive level presentations for monthly readouts and strategic initiative updates.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to ensure current and future needs are met.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of transformative programs.
  • Work with field teams and 3PLs to effectively communicate spares management processes to be followed.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience developing and delivering executive communications via knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Results oriented and deadline driven mindset.
  • Proven program/project management success.
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with data extraction and visualization using tools such as SQL, Qlik, Tableau, etc.
  • Reverse supply chain knowledge and experience in the area of spares management.
  • Familiarity with ERP and/or inventory tracking/planning systems like SAP, PeopleSoft, CATS, COEP, Baxter Prophet, etc.
  • Ability to apply data analytic techniques to pinpoint opportunities and design and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Experience managing vendors, issuing RFPs, and negotiating contract terms like pricing.
  • Strong leadership experience with a proven ability to engage and influence collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
