You will manage and work with a team to identify and develop new compliance product concepts and markets that drive value to the Telematics organization. You will work with key stakeholders across cross functional teams and customers. You will collaboratively create strategic prioritization to add value to our customers and ease customer pain points as well as look for opportunities to drive innovation and revenue. You will then represent and execute that strategy to the organization showing the path from MVP development through end of life.

General Responsibilities

  • Manage and Lead- Manage and lead a team of subject matter experts which will be a key component in the success of this role.
  • Be Customer Obsessed – Always starts with the customer first and works back. Actively build customer relationships, understand their business goals and pain points. Be the customers’ voice.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – we’re looking for a strategic thinker who sets a product vision and strategy around the needs of our customers and growing business.
  • Responsibility for defining go-to-market strategies, roadmap and Time Horizon planning for the Compliance Product
  • Monitor and actively participate in pertinent regulatory bodies and trade organizations.
  • Comment and communicate VZC viewpoints to the regulatory bodies and customer base.
  • On site visits and interaction with trucking industry leaders and leading edge companies; searching for strategic initiatives and obtaining voice of customer.
  • Leading the VZC ELD migrations to be complete by December 2019. This includes both the Fleet and Reveal Product ELD applications and being responsible for the customer experience pre and post migration.
  • Leverage an opportunity evaluation methodology, whereby priorities can be set based on business and customer value opportunities.
  • Responsible for product positioning including articulating customer problems and solutions and partnering with product marketing to craft product messaging briefs for product launch cycles.
  • Be an authority on market trends, emerging technologies and competitive landscapes
  • Works directly with Engineering team to create great quality products
  • Partner closely with UX & Design to translate product vision and strategy into a great customer experience
  • Foster a culture of innovation and a fail-fast philosophy in Product
  • Responsible for product positioning including articulating customer problems and solutions and partnering with product marketing to craft product messaging briefs for product launch cycles.
  • Define product requirements – writing and prioritizing use cases
  • Work with senior management, internal stakeholders and customers to create product plans and roadmaps
  • Use critical thinking to get to the root of product issues, executive questions, etc. and be able to both deep dive but also cover broad topic areas to synthesize your own analysis and succinct recommendations for path forward
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and changing environment
  • User experience interviews and testing to gather continuous customer insights
  • Drive and own product deliverables – high-level business rationale, product/market fit, etc.
  • Work with cross functional team to develop 3 to 5 yr. business plans
  • Overall P & L responsibility for overall business line
  • Monitor and actively participate in pertinent regulatory bodies and trade organizations.
  • Comment and communicate VZC viewpoints to the regulatory bodies and customer base.
  • Create compliance product plans to solve market problems. Activities include: market requirements definition, product positioning, and development of business cases and product strategies.
  • Product life cycle management. Activities include: support of ongoing development, positioning and GTM effectiveness including product P&L, sales (win/loss analysis), management of backlog (including feature requests) and ongoing competitive analysis.
  • Market segmentation and analysis to determine successful opportunities to serve key market segment needs. This includes understanding the addressable market and market opportunity sizing, competitive analysis, market needs and product fit evaluation, and building compelling business cases to drive new product decisions.
  • Support the direct and indirect channels with market and product expertise: Activities include: presentations, strategic sales calls, and events (conferences, trade shows, webinars) support
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams, make key strategic recommendations and product priority decisions on business cases, engineering and support costs, key customer and market analysis.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

• 8 or more years of relevant work experience in a Software as a Service organization

• 5 or more years of direct people management experience

• Proven experience in defining, developing and launching products

• Experience defining and launching mobile first product experiences

Even better if you have:

• A Master’s degree

• A desire to innovate and an entrepreneurial mind-set with a healthy disregard for the impossible

• Strong logical, analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated leadership among a high performing team of specialists

• Show interest and knowledge in the Telematics and IoT space with demonstrated user empathy

• Expert in an Agile environment, comfortable interacting with other software development processes

• Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional internal teams and external partners

• A great story-teller with excellent written and oral communication skills
