What you’ll be doing...

Overall Purpose:

The Security Specialist is a member of the Verizon International Security Group which is responsible for the protection and safeguarding of company assets including personnel, property and proprietary information. The Security Specialist is accountable for the effective implementation of security services in the area of investigations (loss management), physical and personnel security, management of security guard services and security awareness.

Principal Job Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct internal and external investigations in accordance with local legal requirements, company policies and protocols.
  2. Develop and coordinate the design and operation of physical security process and procedures including the issue and retrieval of company access and ID cards, visitor registration and response to security incidents.
  3. Conduct regular audits of security records and procedures to ensure that processes are being enforced.
  4. Conduct physical security surveys and blueprint reviews and make recommendations to enhance the security and protection of company facilities and assets in consultation with the Security Manager. Coordinate the assembly, installation and maintenance of locking hardware, electronic access control, intrusion detection and CCTV systems in Verizon facilities.
  5. Administer and coordinate contract security guard services to ensure that the contracted company provides a quality service which conforms to the standards set out in contract agreements.
  6. Coordinate executive protection and measures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff traveling to/from the Asia Pacific region / International regions.
  7. Initiate and maintain a strong consulting relationship with all levels of staff and management to ensure that there is culture of security awareness and compliance.
  8. Undertake additional security related tasks as directed by the Security Manager.

Qualifications & Experience: (E – Essential; D – Desirable)

  1. Investigations and Fraud Prevention – An in depth knowledge in investigations including interviewing techniques, general laws of evidence, statement formats, photography, surveillance, data collection and court testimony, to assure that all investigations are conducted in a professional, ethical and legal manner. (D)
  2. Physical Security – An in depth knowledge concerning professional security standards and ability to apply Verizon requirements to building construction, physical security surveys, access control (electronic and non-electronic) and alarm systems to ensure the physical integrity of Verizon facilities. Ability to develop, implement and audit security processes and procedures. (E)
  3. Manned Guarding – Comprehensive knowledge and experience in managing contracted manned guarding force (E)
  4. Security Risks Management – Demonstrated understanding and experience of security risk management in the areas of crisis management, executive protection, travel security and security awareness programs (E)
  5. Assistance to Law Enforcement – Experience in Corporate Security for providing assistance to law enforcement agencies. (E)
  6. Budgeting – Knowledge in financial costing and budgeting related to Opex and Capex.(D)
  7. Material Management – An in depth knowledge of material management of both Bonded and Non Bonded assets. (E)
  8. Security Applications Knowledge – Knowledge of basic security applications (Lenel OnGuard) functionality. (E)
  9. Team Management – Ability to manage the team pan India for day to day operations, ensuring regular trainings, security deployment and create a robust feedback mechanism.
  10. Communications Skills – Fluent verbal and written communications skills in English, Hindi and Kannada (D)
  11. Managerial Skills – Demonstrate a capacity to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines. Must be able to work independently and demonstrate capacity to exercise judgement and act decisively on own authority. (E)
  12. Computer Literacy – A working knowledge and capacity to use standard office applications (E). Knowledge of investigation and case management applications would be an advantage. (D). Knowledge of network fundamentals (D).

Qualifications:

  • Any bachelor degree from a recognized Indian university.
  • Four years in Corporate Security with a CPP / CFE Certification for civilian candidate. Exception for Ex – Serviceman and Central / Para Military Forces with at least 5 years of combatant service.
