What you’ll be doing...

We are seeking an RF / DAS Engineer who possess the ability to complete full turnkey solutions for RF and DAS projects with Level 2 skills in iBwave design using multiple DAS OEM' s. In addition, the ideal candidate will have proficiency in Commissioning, Optimization, RF propagation, Data Collection, turn up of DAS Systems and assist Implementation with the Project management of each assigned project.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Completion of indoor DAS system building modeling, propagation, data collection and optimization.
  • Experience in small to medium system design using different OEM platforms, this will be performed either independently or with other peers.
  • Analysis of all CW testing and RF Propagation analysis to determine DAS design.
  • Responsibilities will include location assessment, site survey and gathering of coverage requirements.
  • Oversight of system commissioning, optimization and CW Testing, occasionally will be required to complete these tasks on-site personally.
  • Review iBwave designs and make on site decisions per project design requirements.
  • Work closely with peers in System Performance on RAN planning to increase reliability and capacity across the entire submarket.
  • Manage all designs and deployment of in-building DAS for network driven or business driven projects.
  • For many projects, this person is jointly responsible for all aspects of in-building deployment with other implementation team members. At times, complete in-building deployment will be the sole responsibility of this person
  • Co-Manage a portion of the in-building capital budget on an annual basis including forecasting spend, executing to forecast, and maintain compliance with Verizon procurement guidelines.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in RF, LTE and DAS engineering using most major DAS OEMs such as Corning, CommScope, SOLiD, JMA/TEKO, etc.
  • Experience in DAS commissioning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in use of RF and optical test equipment i.e. spectrum analyzer, base station analyzer, OTDR and Anritsu.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in electrical engineering.
  • iBwave Level 2 proficiency
  • Experience in the cellular industry, network experience or related field.
  • Experience with RF propagation tools and radio test equipment, like Ascm, DataPro, Spectrum Analyzers, Actix, Windcatcher, or RF Scanners.
  • Knowledge of intermodulation, distortion, interference detection, and mitigation techniques.
  • Knowledge of antenna characteristics or antenna system design and selection.
  • Knowledge of frequency planning constraints and requirements such as C/I, co and adjacent channel criteria.
  • Knowledge of LTE, VoLTE, Evdo, or CDMA.
  • Knowledge of Ericsson Baseband Operation and Configuration.
