What you’ll be doing...

Provide technical support for Global managed services customers hosted on Verizon Cloud Platform including but not limited to maintenance, incident support, documentation, escalation and resolution.

Maintain and advance our OpenStack environment supporting network virtual services. This includes interfacing with peer support teams, and participating in feedback loops with upstream resources that will shape the company direction. While embracing new technologies in an evolving culture, you will support our cloud strategies.

• Participating in a 24x5 support team and on-call rotation during the weekend

• Providing technical support for our cloud platform, and being responsible for the OpenStack environment, and network virtual services infrastructure.

• Effectively communicating with cloud, network teams and external customers.

• Troubleshooting failures and productivity impacting events.

• Patching, updating and upgrading both hardware and software resources.

• Automating repetitive tasks using agile software development practices and tools such as Perl, Ruby and Python Scripting.

What we’re looking for...

· Linux Administration certifications I and II, or equivalent proficiencies.

· Proficiency in system administration, network administration, and the virtualization disciplines of both subjects.

· Experience with Linux systems administration, preferably in a virtualized environment.

· Experience with networking concepts and protocols, including SDN (Software Defined Network) and NFV (Network Function Virtualization).

· Experience supporting OpenStack such as RedHat

· Scripting skills such as Python, Bash, Ruby, and Perl.

· Minimum Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) “Routing and Switching” certification

· Strong customer service and support skills

· Strong written / verbal communication

· ITIL Knowledge and/or certifications

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work related experience
