What you’ll be doing...

The Purchasing Consultant Role will be responsible for day-to-day operational results and overall analytics for the Verizon forward and reverse supply chain. Specific functions include defining, developing and directing daily supply planning, purchasing, and inventory optimization needs that supports all Verizon FiOS related material. The core responsibility is to ensure that the Regions maintain a 95% service level for the entire product lineup, while minimizing the working capital risk to the business. The position will be responsible for defining and executing to a set of supply chain operational metrics geared towards inventory optimization, cost reduction, improving revenue opportunities and overall customer experience.

This role will require extensive collaboration with various internal and external teams to support the S&OP process. This position will support/lead supply chain-optimization related projects involving cross-functional teams at an aggressive pace on an enterprise-wide scale. Youwill also have significant leadership experience, demonstrated successes driving cross-functional process improvement, enabling tangible benefit to the business. The candidate will be the catalyst for driving continuous improvement while supporting the day-to-day operations.

This is a high impact, highly visible, multi-business/multi-region position in the Supply Chain organization. The Supply Chain Purchasing Consultant will be part of a leading-edge team responsible for supporting and executing strategic efforts across Verizon’s Supply Chain organization.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with managing a reverse logistics process including planning, operations and returns forecasting.
  • Experience managing replenishment activities out of a regional distribution center.
  • Experience in managing employees.
  • Experience with planning & replenishment systems.
  • Technical experience with Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines; manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to apply advanced analytic techniques such as optimization, simulation, data mining and statistics to design, implement, validate and refine mathematical models and algorithms to understand and optimize supply chain.
  • Experience in end-to-end supply chains, established effectiveness with managing inventory improvement initiatives with a focus in Supply Planning, Inventory Optimization, CPFR processes, and S&OP processes.
  • Proven track record with vendor relationship management, negotiation skills, and implementation supplier scorecards (OEM / 3PL Management).
