What you’ll be doing...

Verizon GTS Organization is seeking an IT Program Management Lead for the enterprise IT program management office. This role will develop and refine the IT delivery resource framework and manage the technical project management, development, testing, and other resources within it. This role will support transformation and ongoing process management of resources management. This role is expected to transform existing processes in alignment with other organization transformation efforts to ensure efficiency and on time IT project delivery.

  • Own front door / intake process for technical project managers, assess resource availability, and assign resources by partnering with team leads.
  • Develop resource management models for both onshore and offshore resources to ensure transparency into resource needs, available resources for various skill sets, and assess gaps.
  • Develop plans to ensure proper staffing and align with resource’s managers and budget teams to execute.
  • Develop and implement processes to streamline and manage staffing IT projects by partnering with key stakeholders across the business and IT.
  • Optimize the use of project and portfolio management tools Jira and Clarity to ensure resources can be managed effectively within the available tools.
  • Provide communications support for resourcing topics, including reporting and developing deckware, especially to leadership groups.
  • Evolve the agile methodology as it relates to supporting resource management to ensure effectiveness and that it supports the needs of IT and the business.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience in an IT project-based environment, managing resources and ensuring resource alignment across the organization.
  • Experience in technical project oversight, including portfolio or program management.
  • Experience working with PPM tools; Jira or Clarity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different business and technology channels.
  • Ability to use desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, e-mail, etc.); Google suite.
  • Knowledge of agile project management concepts.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
