What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Customer Router Security team is responsible, among other things, for the design, development, and support of the company’s DDoS mitigation platform: DDoS Shield. The team is seeking a Senior Network Security Architect to lead in design, provide ongoing support/training, assist on customer calls, troubleshoot network issues, create documentation, prototype changes/redesigns, and generally cover any gaps.

Network Security Architect is responsible for determining feasibility, helping set priority, and developing designs to add features/enhancements to Verizon’s DDoS Shield product.

Network Security Architect will bring hands-on experience in applying best practices, managing stakeholder expectations, collaboration of solution approaches, and positioning implementations for ongoing success. He/She would also be comfortable pitching solutions and gaining the buy-in from the various teams including senior leaders. The Architect leverages his/her rich understanding of routing, tunneling, and DDoS mitigation to design solutions that meet business requirements, customer needs, and can be achieved within the limitation of allocated resources and budget.

Network Security Architect will also be responsible for planning ahead to identify future needs with enough time to evaluate hardware platforms, obtain capital budget, and ensure the platform remains architecturally sound.
