What you’ll be doing...

We are looking to hire a Senior Manager to join the Verizon GTS Team. This role oversees an average 400+ stories per month that are delivered successfully through release management.

  • Responsible for management of Thirty Five or more business analysts, managers and release managers for the Sales, Service and Tools IT application.
  • Manages resources for 300 onshore employees with oversight of 250+ offshore resources.
  • Ensures all business needs are met through the efficient assignment and management of resources.
  • Manage Business Analysts across all of Verizon's top priority programs.
  • Acts as the lead for SKU set up of Apple Devices as well as application planning for command centers for both devices and major new pricing.
  • As Responsible Compliance Owner, responsible for VAST compliance activities as well as SOX compliance.
  • Perform management and development of Staff.
  • Ensure staff is clear on all work assignments.
  • Ensure staff development through training, performance reviews, one on one time working through program challenges.
  • Encourage new ideas to bring about best in class practices.
  • Ensure top priorities programs on the Priority List have resources and are being actively worked.
  • Ensure that critical programs do not lose resource assignments to less important work.
  • Ensure that resources are all accounted for in Jira.
  • Produce and review resource reports so no individuals are missing allocations or are above/below allocations.
  • Work with other organizations to cover projects especially those high in priority or to meet urgent business needs.
  • Ensure all critical resources are assigned to releases.
  • Prepare all release documents and ensure relevancy.
  • Support releases and device launches as needed.
  • Ensure device launch plans are created, reviewed and distributed.
  • Work with other IT team and RTEs to have alignment in Jira.
  • Work with portfolio team to fully understand the priorities at any given time.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in managing complex operations.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence and Google Suite Tools.
  • Knowledge of Sales and Service transaction flows.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications architecture, preferably at Verizon Wireless.
  • Knowledge of strategic and tactical program planning and management concepts, methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures.
  • Technical and analytical skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Knowledge of information systems concepts.
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Conflict resolution, negotiating and facilitating skills.
  • Decision-making, problem solving skills, and organizational skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assertively manage the relationship between GTS and the applicable customer.
  • Experience in managing a team.
