What you’ll be doing...

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Fiber testing/turn up.
  • Testing and analyzing network coverage to ensure contiguous communication and network integrity and quality.
  • Building and grounds upkeep.
  • Support of interdepartmental objectives for new projects.
  • Maintaining site and test equipment inventories.
  • Maintaining daily logs with site specific information.
  • Composing clear and concise reports for system documentation.
  • Performing audits as required by local, regional, Area, Corporate or Regulatory agencies.
  • Switch related duties including backup of essential equipment.
  • Troubleshooting switch related equipment- including CDMA related equipment, Fujitsu related dark fiber equipment, ALU 7705/ 7750 routers.
  • Ability to assist and troubleshoot area equipment locally with area telephone support.
  • Troubleshoot, upgrade, integrate, and perform preventative maintenance on multiple vendor systems.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on regional data networks and correct anomalies.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in First Office Applications (FOAs) and other projects as scheduled.
  • Interface and escalate as necessary with key stakeholders both within and outside the region to ensure projects as well as troubleshooting efforts are completed in a timely manner.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Working knowledge of G-suites.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with TCP/IP, LAN/WAN and IP routing protocols.
  • Knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, network segmentation (VLAN), MPLS, and virtual routing instances.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet transport networks (LAN & WAN) with Ethernet over SONET, Metro E and dark fiber.
  • Experience with high speed wireless technologies; 1xRTT, EV-DO, EV-DO rev A and LTE.
  • Experience with Cisco & Juniper infrastructure and operating systems.
  • Experience using various network monitoring or performance tools such as RTT, Fluke, NetScout, Wireshark and Prospect.
  • Ability to adapt to ever changing infrastructure.
  • Ability to provide technical and/or analytical support to solve a wide range of complex issues/problems.
  • Capability of making recommendations that aid in the successful completion of projects within a product or functional area, works with limited supervision
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and work extremely well in a team environment.
  • Ability to possess a proactive work style with the ability to set priorities, work with minimum supervision and with a diverse group of professionals.
  • Ability to be detail oriented and ability to follow up through to completion on all assignments/projects/deadlines.
  • Capability to initiate to independently identify issues, come up with timely, creative solutions, and own issues through resolution.
