What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) Cross Channel Insights & Analytics team delivers value to Verizon through business intelligence reporting and analytics by driving insights to actions.

CX Analytics is leading the advancement of analytics maturity from understanding the past to predicting the future. This position is on the Data Management & Governance team which is responsible for providing governed KPI’s to the appropriate channels utilizing a host of various tools.

As the Business Intelligence Manager, you will:

  • Develop analytical views of data utilizing various BI tools.
  • Connect various data locations in order to stage data before visualizations.
  • Strategize, oversee and document multiple projects with evolving timelines in various stages of completing.
  • Resource planning and defining scope on new initiatives and existing project in various stages of completion.
  • Evaluate, hire, and manage outside vendors operating in multiple facets of the tech, big data, and telecom industries.
  • Lead collaboration with business leads and IT to execute all visual design stages from concept and requirements to final hand-off to business unit end-users.
  • Conduct and ensure user acceptance testing with IT for database and applications prior to production release to include Software testing, quality assurance, and solution certification & approval.
  • Establish and promote Verizon brand standards and best practices and across business units and IT.
  • Analyze the specific and complex needs executive leadership, management, consultants, and other business users that lead to tailored User and Diagnostic Interfaces.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing wireframes, production documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and/or models.
  • Review existing visualizations to assess existing opportunities for improvement within the business and to drive a best in class User Interface solution.
  • Work with large sets of data to build proper visualizations and setups for consumption by users that are diverse in their level of complex data comprehension.

What we’re looking for...

You will have the ability to combine complex data sets together to develop & automate various analytical views for visualization & analysis. You’re ability to work with business owners to understand and convert vague requirements into key metrics & data sets while driving automation in your work. You are able to multitask under short deadlines, based upon general direction. You can investigate and solve complex problems and discrepancies with the ability to develop solutions that align tactical solutions with strategic goals. You have strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to explain complex concepts simply across all levels.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with SQL & SQL Server, Hadoop, Big data environments and Tableau.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience with Cognos, Kibana, PowerBI or Qlik.
  • Experience with proprietary web-based applications.
  • Experience taking and implementing creative direction from User Experience designers and business leaders.
  • Experience with real-time data analytics.
  • Experience communicating visualizations at various levels.
  • Experience prioritizing and focusing on ideas and features that will have significant impact and value to the business.
