What you’ll be doing...

As a Manager of Learning and Development, you will be responsible for project management, strategic architecture and effectiveness of learning solutions supporting business initiatives. You will lead project teams in the design and development process from the needs analysis through evaluation. You will conduct scoping and analysis, prioritization of projects, recommendations of deployable learning solutions and develop key learning solutions along with project documentation.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to determine learning needs and the best delivery approach.
  • Creating innovative learning solutions for sales, products, customer service, and employee development.
  • Managing projects to create effective learning solutions on time and on budget.
  • Evaluating program effectiveness and continuously improving our solutions.
  • Providing regular updates to senior leadership on progress and results achieved.
  • Designing and developing delivery methods on all aspects of learning including classroom, web conferencing, mobile, and eLearning modalities.
  • Creating Game Plan including Design Detail Documentation.
  • Creating learning resources and assessment.
  • Preparing and planning the execution of programs.
  • Evaluating for business impact.
  • Leading cross-functional team in the design and development process.
  • In parallel with Project Management responsibilities, creating high-profile, key learning solutions including but not limited to training proposals, presentations, learning solutions, measurements and return on investment which support the overall project before, during, and after launch timelines.
  • Negotiating the best learning methods and development strategies with stakeholders.
  • Researching and championing best-in-class learning trends for innovative learning solutions.
  • Leading special large scale projects.
  • Optimizing content creation and curation.
  • Keeping current on digital content strategy trends and tactics to identify opportunities with target audiences and bring fresh ideas to internal teams and clients.
  • Guiding other designers and developers in program creation.

This position can be located in any valid Corporate Verizon location.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience designing custom learning programs using alternative delivery methods.
  • Experience in creating custom learning solutions using alternative modalities and technology.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master’s degree.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Built trusted relationships and influenced key stakeholders.
  • Motivated and inspired a team to create strong learning outcomes.
  • Consulted with HR professionals and their business clients.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and training approaches.
  • Managed projects effectively balancing timeliness and quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Captivate 6 or 7, Storyline, and/or Camtasia Studio 8.
  • Expertise with ADDIE and SAM training development models.
  • Experience designing for AR/VR and HTML 5.
  • Willingness to travel.
