A senior-level software engineer to work on the Hours of Service stack, with a focus on automated testing and code quality. The Hours of Service team is a high-performance team maintaining a regulatory product used to enhance operational safety by thousands of truck drivers across the US and Canada.

  • Work with other Hours of Service team members, as well as members of the wider Mobile group, QA, UX and other groups as necessary.
  • Empower, inspire, motivate and mentor the team in creating robust, fault-tolerant code and system designs.
  • Improve automated testing of Web Applications, Server Side Services and Mobile Applications.
  • Enhance existing and develop new monitoring systems for deployed apps and services.
  • Improve systems for monitoring code quality, including unit and functional test frameworks and unit test coverage metrics.
  • Maintain a strong focus on test-driven development and fault-tolerant design.
  • Maintain and actively use data from monitoring and logging systems to further improve system quality and robustness to enhance our customer experiences.
  • Report to the Hours of Service Team Lead.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with modern programming tools.
  • Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Experience with automated UI testing.
  • Experience with unit and functional test frameworks and patterns.
  • Experience with large-scale, full-stack software architecture design.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience with mobile application development (iOS, or cross platform).
  • Experience with UI Automation testing of mobile apps and/or browser-based web applications.
  • Experience with a wide range of technologies and development processes which may include: C#, Java, node.js, SQL / RDBMS (Potsgres experience a bonus).
  • Experience with Agile processes and version control systems (eg: Kanban, JIRA, Mercurial).
