What you’ll be doing...

The Invoice Validation Manager leads a team responsible for the audit and analysis of $384M annual Telco expense. The Manager provides direction to the staff to perform the research and analysis that is necessary to support day-to-day job functions, address complex issues as they arise, and develop solutions to long term problems. Leading this team includes ownership of the monthly invoice audits, dispute filings, and invoice payment approvals for several thousand detailed Telco invoices per month. The Manager guides the team in reviewing and implementing audits for telco invoices that apply logic from the governing carrier tariffs, FCC rulings, interconnection agreements, contracts and supporting VZ legal positions. The Manager must coordinate decisions on audit, dispute and account reconciliation with companywide positions and legal opinions. This includes coordinating with stakeholders in VZ Legal, Carrier Management, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, AP, and Credit/Collections.

The Manager will drive audit enhancements and audit development for both existing and new expense streams. This position is also responsible for the dispute resolution of complex, escalated issues that may require cross functional team involvement. This position is responsible for leading cross functional teams while addressing financial aspects of major initiatives across the corporation. The Manager oversees all of the audit functions and looks for opportunities around continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Experience leading people; ability to lead team in environment of constant change.
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; strong organization skills.
  • Ability to act quickly and work under dynamic environments to prioritize and resolve complex issues.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ordering/ provision/ billing systems and flows.
