What you’ll be doing...

At 140, Verizon’s in-house agency, you will be part of the energy that’s evolving the brand to become a leading technology player. The new Tribeca space brings together the industry’s sharpest minds across a multitude of disciplines, forming an integrated team that’s responsive and innovative across every Verizon touch point.

The Assistant Editor will assist on projects ranging from broadcast spots and social/digital content to internal videos and proofs of concept. This role will be responsible for ingesting, logging and organizing footage, preparing editorial projects, making rough cuts, prepping editorial projects for finishing, conforming final color and mix, and providing final deliveries of spots.

In addition, the Assistant Editor will be responsible for media management and archiving work flows, assisting in various responsibilities of a live action shoot when needed, and troubleshooting software and hardware with light IT support to editors, 2D animators, and the Content Studio Manager. Responsibilities include:

  • Assistant Editor on broadcast and social media projects – log and transcode footage, as well as organize footage into bins.
  • Prep editorial projects for color correcting, VFX, and audio mixing. OMF, XML, and EDL creation.
  • Conform color, motion graphics and audio mix (Stereo & 5.1) to create final picture for delivery of spots.
  • Compress video and still image content to smaller, workable sizes, as well as posting for client approval/final delivery.
  • Make edit changes when editor is unavailable/busy.
  • Create simple motion graphics.
  • Record audio for scratch VO tracks.
  • Stock footage & stock music searches.
  • Media management for all active jobs on server.
  • Archiving final projects to free up space on server.
  • Managing and cataloguing final spots and assets on server.
  • Troubleshoot and provide light IT support for editors and 2D animators.
  • Shoot video and stills with Canon 5D, Sony A7s iii or equivalent.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience
  • One or more years of experience working in Post Production.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Production experience.
  • Advanced software level: Adobe Premiere, Adobe Compressor, MPEG Streamclip, or similar compression tools.
  • Intermediate software level: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Beginner software level: Da Vinci Resolve, Maya, Unreal Development Kit.
  • Strong knowledge of the editorial process.
  • Strong knowledge of codecs and compression specs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and workflow development skills.
  • Experience shooting with various camera packages, especially DSLR’s.
  • Experience managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
