What you’ll be doing...

The Corporate Systems Group (CSG) Program Management team is responsible for strategy and implementation of systems solutions that support ERP (Enterprise Resource Platform) and other Systems activity for Verizon Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, HR and Supply Chain. The Senior Systems Program Manager position is the liaison between the Development Team and the Business User Community for Wireless, Wireline, and Corporate General Ledger Functional Systems Support with a significant impact on the Verizon landscape.

  • Direct responsibility for the Reporting and General Ledger functional support team (5+ direct reports) across the ERP systems, including PeopleSoft, SAP, and Costpoint.
  • Provide ERP systems support for all accounting and finance teams during and between accounting periods including, but not limited to, opening and closing periods, monitoring journals and interfaces, as well as tying out system and report outputs.
  • Direct responsibility for the general support of the BlackLine Account Reconcilation Tool, including system and local administrative functions.
  • Identify and manage team resources to provide assistance with special projects of small scale to transformational.
  • Partner with the business and development teams to understand the business needs and the system capabilities to build smarter solutions that will provide long-term benefits from gained efficiencies and improved business processes.
  • Flexible and collaborative work approach to solve complex problems and to develop customer-specific solutions - taking into account multiple internal and external stakeholder groups and different level of stakeholder groups (e.g. Top-Management) with various/changing stakeholder demands/requirements and intersections (e.g. IT, Finance, AP, SC, Top-management level, etc.).
  • Compliance to Verizon policies and procedures or direct impact on the re-design of existing policies and procedures.
  • Establish and oversee effective issue resolution, change control, and risk management processes.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years’ experience.
  • Six or more years of experience in project management.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Accounting, Finance, FP&A, IT, or Project Management.
  • Experience with large, finance-impacting systems program implementations (SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle).
  • Ability to perform in a high volume fast paced changing environment with good time-management skills and the ability to manage teams independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication and organizational skills and the ability to deliver across levels.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage internal / external resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Ability to operate independently and remain focused through change or uncertainty.
  • Experience in executive communication including presentation preparation and delivery.
  • Experience managing across varied Finance, Business, and Technical stakeholder groups and maintaining key relationships.
  • Strong background in Accounting and ERP systems.
  • Help desk and/or end user support experience.
  • Formal training and/or certifications in project management methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma Methodologies, PMP Certifications, etc.)
  • Ability to perform in a high volume fast paced dynamic environment with good time-management skills and the ability to manage teams.
  • Commitment to enhance functional and technologies capabilities, particularly around cutting edge and nascent technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple cross divisional work process and projects.
  • Ability to develop, manages, and mentor junior staff.
  • Experience implementing cutting edge Digital technologies and scaling towards enterprise standards, such as:
    • Natural Language Generation (NLG)
    • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
    • Visual / Mobile ERP
    • Predicative Analysis
    • Blockchain
    • Crowd source queries
