The Finance Organization

At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. FP&A Corporate and Business Unit Team

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll be involved in setting quota and commissions for the East Consumer Area. This requires partnership with the Sales and Operations teams and leading a team dedicated to that process. Specifically you will be required to:

  • Lead a team of finance professionals across the country whose primary responsibility is to produce quotas for the Consumer Area sales teams.
  • Collaborate with the sales leaders to develop and set appropriate quotas to reward performance while balancing profitability.
  • Keep abreast of the competitive landscape and understand how the changes to quotas are impacted by pricing and promotions.
  • Design and implement consistent processes across the country.
  • Own the development of financial models, specifically; Net Present Value, payback and EBITDA analysis.
  • Communicate financial data to sales professionals and other executives.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline.
  • Certification (CPA, CMA).
  • Strategic and analytical capability, including ability to analyze a large amount of data.
  • Strong strategic skills, with ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations; ability to structure business case around a high-level strategic vision.
  • Communication skills and ability to focus on the details.
  • Experience managing people
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
  • Knowledge with Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
