Business Development Representative Responsibilities: Marketing Consultant

  • Prospect, nurture, outbound leads to create sales-ready leads and opportunities in support of any marketing driven programs.
  • Handle and support inbound leads to identify the right resources or sales representative.
  • Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and develop accounts to stimulate sales opportunities for the Verizon Services portfolio.
  • Interact with prospects via telephone, e-mail, events and approved social media outlets.
  • Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections.
  • Disseminate opportunities to appropriate Sales reps, educating reps as necessary about the opportunity.
  • Update lead scoring and prospect interaction in Salesforce.com to ensure efficient lead management.
  • Provide closed-loop feedback to ensure continuous process optimization.
  • Work collaboratively with other business stakeholders, (Product Managers, Events team, Sales Managers, Marketing Managers) as applicable on marketing and account based marketing programs.
  • Support Event related prospecting activity.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Prior telecommunications or relevant experience and knowledge of typical products and services.
  • Sales training and salesforce.com or other CRM experience.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with emphasis on priorities and goals.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy sales team environment: team player.
  • Positive energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills, strong writing skills.
  • Self-starter with a track record of successful lead follow-up and sales development at multiple executive levels within an organization.
  • Experience achieving measurable inside sales goals in a sales environment where accurate entry and management of lead data into a CRM system. Marketo is a plus.
