What you’ll be doing...

As a member of the Verizon Location Services (VLS) Team focused on financial operations, you’ll move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. This position works horizontally across all divisions of Verizon Location Services and offers opportunities to drive better business efficiency & insights, while growing your financial operations leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, day-to-day P&L management and insights, financial operations, P&L scenario modeling, partner reporting operations, revenue and expense forecasting and financial modeling to support key account optimization strategies and new products and services. You can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios.

  • Assist in all aspects of the day-to-day management of the VLS P&L.
  • Work with VLS leadership and Verizon corporate finance stakeholders to develop the commitment view, best view/outlook, including analysis, distribution and recommendations for management reviews.
  • Prepare final monthly analyses of business trends and budget variance of financial results and key performance indicators to be used in management reviews and strategic business analysis sessions.
  • Partners with Corporate Finance in Basking Ridge, NJ and Accounting in Lake Mary, FL on regular basis for corporate financial exercises, reporting, month end close procedures, etc.
  • Develop in depth analysis of the business performance and recommend action plans; including gap closures, considerations for managing cost, growing the revenue and profitability.
  • Develop final capital planning models, reports, templates and variance analysis.
  • Create cash flow statement and ad-hoc cash flow analysis/trending, when applicable.
  • Define the need for and the source of data requirements for the planning & forecasting and reporting processes.
  • Conduct the development of strategic business analysis with overlays and commentary.
  • Create final performance reports, including business insights, ad-hoc analysis and recommendations to VLS management.
  • Proactively identify possible scenarios, risks and opportunities around business performance.
  • Create profitability/costing models and oversee/communicate model updates.
  • Develop and analyze economic drivers and optimization models for strategic partnerships, as applicable.
  • Provides decision supports (processing/tracking/reconciling) on Opex/CapEx invoices.
  • Full responsibility for PO management, partner invoice processing and other partner related financial operations.
  • Manage spend across company purchasing cards.
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft9.1.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
