What you’ll be doing...

The Network Engineer - Incident Management is a focal point within Verizon Global Network Security Service Assurance for network outage restoration.

This role is responsible for overall incident management support including technical and management escalations to repair teams and local carriers to help expedite restoration and information flow to customers regarding restoration efforts.

  • Designing, implementing and managing the Incident Management process including creating and updating all supporting documentation.
  • Directing activities and establishing command and control during technology incidents.
  • Coordinating and driving all activities during the incident on the incident bridge to quickly restore services.
  • Ensuring status updates are provided to company leadership and customers during recovery activities.
  • Overseeing post incident debrief meetings to identify root causes and engage vendors.
  • Ensuring that event details are gathered to provide necessary communications to customer and internal teams.
  • Ensuring that scenario based escalation lists is established maintained and implemented as appropriate.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in technical telecommunications customer support environment.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Flexibility to be in on-call rotation to support customers as required after hours and on weekends.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree
  • ITIL V3 Foundations certification.
  • Two or more years with Microsoft Excel.
  • Technician Certifications – Cisco CCNET, CompTIA A+, Network+.
  • Two or more years of network troubleshooting experience.
  • Results-oriented and have the ability to act independently in the absence of detailed instruction.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.
