Your role

The Product Marketing Manager will develop and own the go-to-market strategy and plan for new developer platform services, APIs and features. The plan will include messaging, positioning, marketing requirements, competitive and market research, customer education, and launch activities that drive sustained adoption of our core location and geospatial stacks.

The Product Marketing Manager will also identify new product concepts, collaborate on the developer services product roadmap, drive market requirements and help develop and analyze business models. He/she will work with their peers across business units to drive active engagement, product enthusiasm and support. This manager will be become deeply rooted in the voice of customer and our platform capabilities.

  • Develop market assessments and commercial models for the product, while validating the concepts through the stakeholder groups
  • Establish KPIs, revenue forecasts, program deliverables and requirements to meet defined targets
  • Develop a deep understanding of users needs through user research, gathering customer feedback, analyzing usage metrics, and conducting competitive research.
    • Ensure the market positioning of products deliver on the promise: train the sales leads, work with marketing members to create and drive sales collateral and support key customer meetings to manage customer expectations
  • Create customer facing educational materials that drive feature adoption.
    • Validate product direction, messaging, and positioning through usability studies and customer betas.
    • Use strong communication skills to distill complex business issues and build consensus across constituencies and passionately evangelize the vision internally and externally.
  • Assess the market for opportunities for partnerships, acquisitions or commercial agreements which advance the efficiency, profitability or strategic positioning of the products

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Direct experience Developer portals, services and APIs
  • 8+ years working with location based or geospatial services, product marketing for developer programs and launching enterprise products and services within large organizations.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Versed in the challenges and opportunities Fortune 500 companies face related to developer platforms, APIs, and developer services and how vendors and solution providers can play a role in today’s Developer ecosystem.
  • Experience in integrating disparate businesses to deliver large scale product launches. Business development, system integrations, joint commercial modeling, product integration and resource alignment experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build engagement and partner across engineering, marketing and teams. Strong sales collaboration and ability to integrate customer requirements. Proven experience translating products’ technical advantages into marketing differentiators.
  • Demonstrated success shaping emerging product vision and strategy, as well as experience bringing several highly innovative, compelling, and profitable products to market.
  • Proven ability to create from scratch highly efficient commercial development and operational processes
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex environments with a track record of building and fostering credibility and alliances.
  • Effectively communicates and presents ideas to others in a manner that achieves clarity, buy-in, commitment, and success.
  • Hands-on, “roll up your sleeves” mindset, with the ability to be a driver and change agent in an organization. Proven ability to lead through influence without a direct line of authority.
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment and comfort dealing with ambiguity.
  • Willingness to take calculated risks, communicate those risks throughout the organization and mobilize the team.
