What you’ll be doing...

As a Verizon Mod Manager, you will be managing the contract modifications for Verizon’s GSA IDIQ contracts. Mod Managers are part of the Verizon Proposal Management team; however, we manage the modifications needed to support our proposals and follow-on orders. Verizon Mod Managers are customer-facing with the General Services Administration (GSA) and manage the communications and correspondence with this Agency for mods. The Mod Managers also work very closely with the Verizon Pricing and Contracts Teams. The Verizon Mod Managers support Account Teams and Program Management in getting their mods successfully submitted to GSA, keep them up to date on the status of the mod during the evaluation process, and answer any questions GSA may have and resolve any issues so the mod can be awarded and added to the contract. The Verizon Mod Managers also help internal support teams present a mod that can be approved and ensure we submit mods that are in the best possible position to be awarded.

  • Able to function in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Able to bring issues to resolution independently

  • Detail oriented and capable of organizing and managing multiple documents at once

  • Capable of managing customer (internal and external) relationships by answering requests in a timely manner, managing expectations for deadlines, attending all necessary meetings regularly and providing status updates, and meeting customer modification objectives

  • Ability to work with multiple internal teams in a matrixed organization to prepare modifications, complete the internal review process, and prepare for documents for submittal to the government

  • Skills required include Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity and understanding of databases (training on our internal core database will be provided)

  • Ability to handle multiple high pressure deadlines and problem solve in a matrixed organization is a must

  • Experience with the Federal Government, especially the General Services Administration, and with IDIQ contracts is a plus

  • Understanding of telecom and technician work is a plus

What we’re looking for...

Intermediate/Expert level experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Excellent communication skills. Always responsive to emails, phone calls, and instant messaging.

Ability to problem solve and make decisions to bring an issue to resolution.

Proven experience project managing in a matrixed organization.

Experience with the Federal Government and an understanding of Federal contracts, specifically GSA contract vehicles, is preferable.
