What you’ll be doing...

Retail Supply Chain Reverse Planning Team is responsible for planning the flow of returned devices via Trade-in, Annual Upgrade, CLNR (Certified Like New Replacement) and Customer Guarantee Programs through the Centralized Returns & Testing Center (CRTC) to satisfy the demand of various outflow programs like Wholesale and CLNR to maximize revenue and profit margins, ensure customer satisfaction and minimize working capital. Reverse operations generate significant revenue for Verizon by processingtwelve or moremillion devices annually.

Reverse Planning Team is looking for a Manager for Business Operations to provide business insights to support decision making at operational and executive levels, and to conduct ad-hoc analysis for leadership. The manager will be responsible for migrating the Reverse Planning Team to One Planning Platform and 1ERP, and creating a culture of data based and action oriented planning function. Prior to systems migrations, all planning processes need to be reengineered and a clear end-to-end blue print must be created. This position requires strategic thinking with the ability to be self-directed. The successful candidate needs to manage multiple complex projects/programs simultaneously to completion in a dynamic environment where requirements and constraints may evolve frequently.

The Manager for Business Operations will:

  • Translate operational challenges into structured problems, generate alternative solutions, and provide recommendation(s) to the leadership;
  • Re-engineer all planning processes;
  • Develop new planning processes with Reverse Planning teams (Aggregate Planning, Inventory Management, and Tactical Planning). Migrate these planning processes from prototype to production working closely with IT and GSC Analytics & Systems teams;
  • Define business requirements for One Planning implementation from Reverse Planning perspective;
  • Create new KPIs (or modify existing ones) to track and report business success;
  • Generate business insights for Reverse Planning Team;
  • Identify supply chain inefficiencies and potential root causes, and address solutions partnering with Reverse Planning teams (Aggregate Planning, Inventory Management, and Tactical Planning) and GSC Systems & Analytics Team;
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of transformative programs;
  • Develop and deliver executive level presentations for monthly readouts and strategic initiative updates.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with ERP and planning systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, JDA, Logility, etc.)
  • Knowledge with supply planning and forecasting.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Qlik, Tableau, Excel

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Knowledge with ERP or large scale software tool (e.g., planning tool) implementation
  • Ability to apply data analytic techniques to pinpoint opportunities.
  • Experience with supply planning and forecasting.
  • Experience in leading an ERP or large scale software tool (e.g., planning tool) implementation.
  • Program/project management experience.
