The Network and Technology Capital Analytics team is hiring a strong leader and strategic thinker to join a high profile, high visibility team that powers Network analytics and strategic thinking for Verizon. You will lead a team that builds tools, analyses, and insights that inform, quantifies, and enables the visualization of data to drive business decisions and investment for Verizon Wireless and Wireline Networks.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Managerial role will report to Director of Business Intelligence, and include the leadership and development of at least four engineers in disciplines including competitive intelligence and automation engineering.
  • Relies on direct reports to deliver results at a high level of independence who help drive decisions and recommendations beyond routine tasks.
  • Develop, broaden, and communicate functional goals from high level objectives while managing policies and procedures.
  • Exercise considerable judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Capital Optimization:

  • VCP: Assist in the optimization of the VCP capital to drive capital efficiency. Work closely with VCP partners to make sure that application owners continuously focus on providing the right forecast to predict and prescribe accurate capital needs.
  • Coverage Strategy: Work with field teams on our coverage strategy. Identify areas where coverage needs to be expanded. Utilize data to drive increased ROI as a result of expanding coverage.
  • Commercial Strategy: Work with the commercial teams to translate their requirements to capital needs. Provide insights to commercial/strategy teams to enable them to provide better strategies. Work closely with strategy teams and align field build plans to match their strategy.
  • One Fiber Alignment: Manage One Fiber capital optimization and serve as the key POC to increase the number of 4G/5G activations on One Fiber.

Competitive Analysis:

  • Gather and automate market data about our competitors, products, macroeconomic, social, political indicators and support the organization in making strategic decisions.
  • Work with 3rdparty companies to pull data related to tests/trials and compute key benchmarking metrics for network parameters.
  • Create consumer empathy/understanding across the business team by effectively communicating existing consumer understanding and identifying actionable learning needs.
  • Communicate and embed learning to increase the impact of insights into action by making them relevant to the business strategy.
  • Assist with and participate in product launches, product demonstrations, partner/customer conferences, and strategic planning sessions.

Business Intelligence & Automation:

  • Develop and grow automated platforms and tools to distribute competitive intelligence information to the broader organization.
  • Compute and automate network capital and operating costs for competitors, to identify areas of opportunities to optimize spend.
  • Define key success metrics and create automated dashboards and reports to communicate results and monitor KPIs.
  • Lead the creation of new data processes as identified through industry benchmarking and collaboration with Verizon's data scientist community.
  • Identify reusable datasets across the company that can be leveraged by multiple teams
  • Being the go-to-person for the data scientists and analysts for competitive datasets and automation projects.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Collaborate with data management engineers and business stakeholders to ensure data governance audit standards.

Executive Presentations:

  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, draw conclusions and relationships and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Effectively communicate actionable insights to category leads supporting their goals and objectives.
  • Prepare executive level presentations to clearly articulate results of complex mathematical analysis through strategic storytelling.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Data management and data analytics experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or business related field.
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Five or more years of experience in analysis, research, or financial management experience performing detailed analysis.
  • Experience effectively leading large cross-functional initiatives, including adoption of associated support processes, and managing over 10 stakeholders.
  • Exceptional technical, verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present to internal and external audiences.
  • Experience analyzing complex data, preparing reports, and presenting findings to multiple stakeholders.
  • Created reports, dashboards, and presentations to highlight key metrics to stakeholders in different functions and levels.
  • Managed multiple complex high-visibility projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Technical experience with Teradata, Tableau, Python, R, Alteryx
  • Trained and mentored IT partners and business users on analytic platforms and best practices.
  • Knowledge in consumer, financial services, or technology sector. Ideally, multi-channel distribution.
  • Three or more years with process, data, and automation work. Certifications in data analytics, Six Sigma, or finance are also preferred.
  • Two or more years using technical business intelligence tools (Tableau, PowerPivot), pattern recognition, and visualization experience.
