What you’ll be doing...

We have an immediate need for a Hardware Field Engineer to join our Device Engineering Services team. This role will help facilitate the development and deployment of new product offerings in our expanding global marketplace. This position would be located in our Dublin, Ireland office.
As a Hardware Field Engineer, you are the consummate team player, adept at managing relationships, collaborating and influencing across a variety of organizational functions. You will work with the hardware product R&D team that is charged with developing and enhancing a product’s contribution to our business as well as working with support functions to address customer concerns as they become known.
You should be prepared to make decisions with imperfect information, know how to lead without authority and be comfortable managing chaos, ambiguity and complexity. You must possess a unique blend of technical savvy and customer relations to allow you to effectively communicate to both non-technical VZC customers and our internal engineering staff. You must also enjoy travel to customer and vendor sites, exploring and troubleshooting hardware related problems and interfacing with VZC customers.

Responsibilities:
• Execution Test plans and documenting results
• Construction of Test fixtures, Customer Configuration setups
• Cable Prototype production / FAI
• Hardware prototype assembly and debug
• Provide assistance to resolve customer issues
• Travel onsite to investigate and resolve customer concerns
• Telematic equipment validation in customer vehicles
• Cable and bracket designs for device installations
• Installation processes and procedures
• Documentation development for 3rd party installers and customer installations
• Interaction with Telematic Installers
• Configurating of customer units
• Hardware engineer support
• Maintaining Test Automation Frameworks
• Ensure Findings/results are documented professionally
• Working with 3rd party vendors to resolve customer issues

What we’re looking for...

Requirements:
● Qualification in Electronic Engineering (NFQ Level 6 Min)
● 3 years + relevant Industry experience
● Good understating of Electronic Circuit design
● Understanding / Creating Wiring Diagrams
● Proficient in productivity applications such as Microsoft Office, Project and PowerPoint.
• Superior trouble-shooting skills
• Familiarity with Electronic communication busses (SPI, RS232, RS485, CAN)
• Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack, JIRA and Salesforce
• Aptitude and interest in Electronic Circuits
• Proficient with electronic test equipment (Communication tester, Oscilloscope etc.)

Preferred:
• Automotive engineering or automotive support experience.
• Experience with Vector CANAlyzer or other CAN capturing tools
• Familiarity with JIRA
• CAD design skills
• Programming or other script development experience
