What you’ll be doing...

  • Develop strategies in cooperation with other Fleet personnel to ensure effective cost-management decisions are executed for selection, purchase, modification and maintenance and re-marketing of Class 1 - Class 8 vehicles and related specialty equipment
  • Ensure appropriate levels of equipment reliability, up-time and compliance through effective maintenance and administrative processes and effective utilization of FMCs and other service-providers
  • Oversees periodic review, update and communication of various policy documents to ensure alignment with changing business and/or regulatory landscapes
  • Manages partner relationships and user-experience related to FMC, OEMs and suppliers, broader internal Fleet organization, field operations teams, Finance, etc.
  • Develop and manage supplier performance management mechanisms
  • Continuously evaluates fleet business-model and may recommend, participate or oversee redesign of internal service offerings
  • Provides subject-matter knowledge and thought leadership to operations, fleet teams and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate and facilitate various governance meetings with field operations teams, key suppliers and fleet team-members

What we’re looking for...

Seeking an experienced fleet manager with exceptional technical, business, communication and leadership skills to lead fleet support of critical field activities, across multiple affiliate companies in the 50 states. Successful candidate will oversee 8,500 vehicles across 50 states as well as develop and grow a team as necessary, currently consisting of 3 professionals responsible for key life-cycle strategies for mobile equipment.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the fleet industry.
  • Working knowledge of common fleet administration tasks.
  • Knowledge of associated regulations at Federal, State and local levels, DOT/FMCSA requirements, OSHA, etc.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree
  • NAFA/CAFM certification
  • Experience in the fleet industry reflecting a combination of both supervisory and client-management aspects of administrative fleet-management, maintenance operations and/or equipment fabrication
  • Working knowledge of common fleet administration tasks such as titling, registration, asset-transfer
  • Working knowledge of and ability to drive adoption of virtual presence technologies and online collaboration tools
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills and ability to develop presentation and summaries of operations/evaluations/recommendations to senior management
  • Project management skills and ability to work with other PMO teams
  • Capability to be an effective communicator at all levels of the organization ranging from front-line employees to senior management.
  • Self-starter that learns and adapts quickly; results oriented, strong sense of urgency, proactive and flexible.
  • Experience in managing Budgets to meet or exceed targets.
  • Ability to adapt skills and knowledge to meet needs of business and prioritize effectively.
  • Commitment to deliver exceptional customer support with high level of professionalism and responsiveness.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project.
  • Ability to lead, coach and otherwise manage employees towards technical and professional proficiency.
