What you’ll be doing...

This position leads a group of Network Assurance System Engineers assigned to the Great Plaines geographic area and will require in-market travel in the assigned geographic area.

The Sr. Manager - Network Assurance is responsible for the day to day network performance and reliability, for best customer experience in the market. This includes the training and continued development of the workforce as well as organizing and scheduling the resources necessary to support a broad range of network elements and projects.

The Sr. Manager - Network Assurance directs and supervises the System Engineers and includes, but is not limited to responsibilities associated with the proper integration, activation, maintenance and ongoing operations of our Switches, Packet Gateways, Routers, DACS and fiber equipment.

This position is also responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of all technologies necessary to expand and evolve the network to meet customer demand for new and improved service offerings. This includes timely support of both capital and expense projects while delivering upon financial targets/goals.

This position must effectively interface and provide support to all other local departments in the organization, such as: Construction, RF, Performance, Engineering, Facilities on a daily basis to ensure growth schedules are being met. It also must work closely with SAP team on common practices and procedures for working in switch locations. This position will be engaged and involved with outage bridges to restore services as soon as possible, many times acting as the command and control lead.

The Sr. Manager - Network Assurance must also effectively interact with HQ organizations such as NRB, NOC, Compliance and NNO Engineering and Operations. Ensures the security, safety, and environmental compliance of systems and facilities are in accordance with corporate guidelines.

The Sr. Manager - Network Assurance is a strong and effective people leader, leading system engineers through change as our network and skillsets transform, and is skilled at coaching, inspiring, teaching and administrative skills. They are an excellent team player, partnering well with other market network teams to continue to ensure best in class results, as well as removing roadblocks to make the field teams more productive. Strong computer skills including, excel and data analysis are foundations to identifying areas for focus and improvement.

This position directs and supervises on average 8-10 System Assurance Engineers.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work extremely flexible hours including evenings, nights and weekends as required.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience as a service providerin MSC and/or Cell Operations. Maintenance preferred.
  • Experience with Cisco, E///, and Nokia infrastructure.
  • Experience in networking including IP addressing, routing and Ethernet switching.
  • Knowledge of 3G and 4G call flows for voice and/or data session describing network elements from cell to Internet.
  • Experience and knowledge of Transmission facilities and network protocols (IP, Ethernet Backhaul, Dark Fiber).
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Adaptive to change – openness to different viewpoints.
  • Demonstrated effective coaching, feedback and teamwork skills.
