What you’ll be doing...

As a Learning Technologies Consultant, you will lead multiple internal and off-the-shelf learning technology design and research initiatives as well as design functional application experiences for the Global Learning and development organization.

Although an individual contributor, you will regularly participate in and lead project teams to create build vs. buy recommendations on complex learning technology initiatives involving diverse stakeholders from all levels of our business. You will have experience in user-centered design principles and agile project management practices. The position requires consideration of multiple user perspectives, but most importantly, your expertise in UX research, usability testing, and UI/Visual design will be a critical success factor in this role. You will work as part of a team as well as independently while delivering reliably within deadlines and budgetary constraints. You are expected to be a critical thinker, thought leader, and mentor for teammates in your areas of expertise.

You will also consult on customizing and implementing supplier provided solutions. It is crucial that you practice consulting through active listening and be able to present rationale to carry others along. You must also recruit business partners to assist with developing and implementing technology solutions.

  • Lead cross-functional product core teams to plan, prioritize, and execute on agreed technology requirements including: documentation of project scope, design reviews, user story/use case development, wireframe design, UAT testing, launch communication, user feedback, change management and enhancement release scheduling; all managed through an agile development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing partnerships with product stakeholders while balancing business impacts, user feedback and commitments to timelines and budget to ensure appropriate prioritization of app development and enhancement requests.
  • Lead and advocate for user-centered design at all phases of product/application development from initial research to validating innovative solutions; sharing best practices with peers and project teams.
  • Plan and execute usability evaluation along with testing throughout build vs buy reviews and product lifecycle including competitive research and behavior-based gap analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with your project, client teams and (internal or external) developers in a studio-like environment to create compelling and credible design solutions and site maps that are technically feasible to implement.
  • Design new user-facing features and enhance existing features using industry best practices within given application contexts, while understanding use-cases and making pragmatic decisions regarding UX/UI concerns.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, user flows, prototypes, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design concepts.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and lead the execution of approved communication plan for technology launch; providing frequent communication to leadership on development progress and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Identify and partner with appropriate internal IT resources/teams to conduct application security reviews, SSO integrations, mobile governance review, global clearance and compliance to brand standards.

This position can be located in any valid Corporate Verizon location.
