What you’ll be doing...

Develop the overarching visual design direction, style guidelines, and UI patterns, based on overall brand and product strategy, to influence the ongoing evolution of the brand experience and develop customer and user experiences that elevate the Verizon brand. Work with brand systems, including defining distinctive design directions, typography, color, hierarchy, and visual design elements and principles. Interface with IT development teams to understand technical constraints and opportunities, and realize new user experiences through designs that are implementable, scalable, and accessible. Develop designs that are feasible to code, including developing guidelines for responsive design behavior, and generating screen designs for both Android and iOS, and apply knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS and Javascript. Conduct design evaluations and define opportunities for improvements within digital products. Define and document visual design systems and develop templates, components and UI elements in style guides and annotated design documentation. Develop and present design alternatives to external clients and internal stakeholders for achieving design objectives. Participate in meetings and ideation sessions with Marketing and Business core team members to represent the look and feel of possible experiences and clarify purposes and objectives that bring the brand strategy to life. Research and understand UX/UX opportunities within the current digital experience to drive initiatives to improve and deliver a seamless customer experience. Create and maintain UI/UX design documentation including style guides, design frameworks, motion libraries, engagement patterns and prototypes to aid with cross-team communication, collaboration and development. Partner with design researchers and UX designers to create stimuli and prototypes for use in customer research, and translate into compelling brand expressions. Present design work to team members, stakeholders, and leadership at internal review sessions, making a compelling case for design decisions and providing recommendations on how to evolve the Verizon brand language and develop and present design alternatives for achieving design objectives. Deliver design assets using core design software and prototyping tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch InVision, Framer, Principle, Flinto, and Figma. Contribute to the launch of digital products for large audiences, including native android and iOS mobile apps, mobile web, web, software, internet of things/smart devices, and interactive displays. Work on print and communication design, including presentation design and other formats including: posters, journey maps, information graphics, publication design, and brand identity. Contribute to qualitative research efforts through the creation of prototypes and contributions to research plans.

What we’re looking for...

Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Interaction Design, Visual Studies or a related field and 2 years of experience working with brand systems, including defining distinctive design directions, typography, color, hierarchy, and visual design elements and principles, and defining documenting visual design systems, developing templates, components and UI elements in style guides and annotated design documentation. 2 years of experience developing designs feasible to code, including defining guidelines for responsive design behavior and generating screen designs for both Android and iOS, and applying knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS and Javascript. 2 years of experience developing and presenting design alternatives to internal stakeholders for achieving design objectives. 2 years of experience using core design software and prototyping tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch InVision, Framer, Principle, Flinto, and Figma. 2 years of experience contributing to the launch of digital products for large audiences, including native android and iOS mobile apps, mobile web, web, software, internet of things/smart devices, and interactive displays. Experience therein to include 1 year of experience in print and communication design, including presentation design and other formats including: posters, journey maps, information graphics, publication design, and brand identity. 1 year of experience contributing to qualitative research efforts through the creation of prototypes and contributions to research plans. Must be able to work 1 day per week at the Verizon office located at 1 Verizon Way, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
