Global cost modeling team supports product management in successful launch of new products from the R&D phase, pilot to full commercial launch. The candidate will become a finance subject matter expert managing costs that feed Verizon Quoting system and will be expected to provide timely costs into an automated system, troubleshoot quote errors, work with pricing and sales teams to ensure profitability measures are accurate. In addition the person will work extensively with cost models built on the SQL database platform to manage cost compilation, data mining, complex calculations, unit cost level allocation and develop unit level profitability data analytics by geographical market. Working to improve operational efficiency within Finance with a focus on business case tracking process, post approval capital ROI measure of actual against forecast assumptions, automation of cost data collection, improvements in the product profitability reporting. The job will include a great amount of interaction with various operational teams including Pricing, Product, Legal and Network Engineering.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of Excel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with SQL coding, ability to write and modify queries, views.
  • Knowledge of: SQL Server programming (T-SQL, Functions, CLR) and OLAP technologies.
  • Experience using leading industry BI tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI or similar).
  • Advanced Excel experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and metadata skills.
  • Ability to translate business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects.
