What you’ll be doing...

Help us optimize Verizon’s purchase of nearly two billion dollars in 3rd Party Dedicated Access and Switched Ethernet services by joining Carrier Management as a Consultant- Business Planning. This team’s mission is to drive year over year cost reductions through effective management of Length of Term and Class of Service opportunities for Wireline circuit commitments, while minimizing Early Termination & Commitment Shortfall penalties.

The work requires a detailed understanding of FCC Special Access tariffs, LEC Guide Book offerings, and Commercial Ethernet contracts as well as strong Database Query and Financial Analysis skills. Daily tasks will contribute towards a 2019 group Telco Savings target of twenty million dollars.

Daily tasks include:

  • Handling the upkeep and improved utilization of Verizon’s Term Plan Tool (TPT) for your assigned vendors and/or territories.
  • Serving as the financial SME for all Tariff or Guide Book TDM Term Plans and Commercial Switched Ethernet contract offerings in your territories, including associated performance tracking and forecasting.
  • Providing Carrier Management peers and other internal customers with financial advice and counsel in support of contract negotiations, commitment renewals and optimization initiatives including the creation of business case planning models in support of those efforts.
  • Performing financial impact analyses for actual as well as anticipated future pricing changes for your vendors.
  • Analysis and recommendation of optimal Ordering VTAs for all new tariff or contract offerings based on a total life cycle circuits cost.
  • Assisting our Invoice Validation group with term plan and/or contract rates, terms and conditions.
  • Estimating Early Termination and Shortfall penalties to assist in Network Optimization prioritization and Telco invoice accuracy.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Telecom industry work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a relevant field.
  • Telecom industry work experience, with a preference for Access Cost Management.
  • Experience with Verizon Business in an Access Cost Management or Invoice Validation role.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Financial acumen to present term plan ideas and commitment recommendations to management.
  • Experience with FCC Interstate Telcom Tariffs and LEC Service Guides.
  • Knowledge of 3rd Party Telco Vendor billing with detailed knowledge of Hyperion queries.
  • Experience working with Verizon Network Systems & Applications including Netpro, F&E, BGW, TCOMS, CLR, Order Manager, VERIFY, eASR, 4WM, CAMEO and Optima.
