What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for developing the engineering and implementation plans for the eNSE networks and overall architecture to ensure capacity needs, strategic features, functionality, and resiliency goals are met. This position also includes responsibilities such as Annual Capital budget and Plan of Record development, communication and tracking as well as working with Engineering teams and vendors to assure successful completion of the plan. You will think critically and make technical and business decisions while setting the architectural direction for the network in addition to maintaining expert level familiarity with network standards to provide modifications, exceptions or strict adherence for new projects or initiatives.

  • Responsible for engineering and deploying directional networks for Intelligent Edge network, including but not limited to: MSE, SAP ENSE Fabric, Access ENSE fabric, MEC, ISP, NNI and Edge OTNGNconnectivity.
  • Lead efforts and provide guidance, solutions, deployment strategies and technical documentation to the CNE team for new project rollouts.
  • Lead FOA efforts and act as point of contact for multipl high vibility projects.
  • Provide feedback and influence the implementation strategies that adhere to standards by conducting regular meeting for knowledge transfer sessions with the cross-functional team, wihch may include the market edge team, app team, VCP team, and Design.
  • Become a subject matter expert for project oversight and total ownership.
  • Strong interaction with design and architecture teams developing future networks.
  • Develop network configurations from design models and templates.
  • Work on cross-functional teams to develop network automation using Python, NSO, Ansible, and other tools like DCNM, VTS, Pronghorn, NSO, and Nuage.
  • Build networks for interconnection to VCP-E platforms for growth, capacity and expansion.
  • Work with underlay and overlay controllers for network creation, network modeling, and network deployments. Leverage plugins for network deployments across multiple virtualized OS environments.
  • Engineer network solutions with a strong interaction with PNF and VNF applications teams by serving as the team advocate, coordinator, facilitator, and central point of contact for any given projects.
  • Provides technical support as networking issues are discovered, and proactively offer guidance to the team to resolve these issues.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in working a complex network environment preferably within a service provider.
    • Devices: Cisco Carrier Routing Systems (CRS), Cisco ASR, Cisco NCS, Juniper MX960, MX2020, Cisco Nexus 9K, 7K, Nokia ALU7750.Operating Systems: XR-IOS, NX-OS, JunOS, Nokia OS.
  • Expert knowledge of network protocols as follows: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS L2 and L3, MP-BGP, QOS, Traffic Engineering, Inter-AS MPLS, Multicast VPN.
  • Exposure in the Cisco ACI and/or other modern IP fabric based networks leveraging underlay/overlay, eVPN, VXLAN, and Segment routing.
  • Use of modern network controller/orchestration tools like Cisco VTS, Cisco DCNM, Nuage, NSO, Itential Pronghorn, Ansible.
  • Exposure in network analyst, and capacity forecast in data networking and telecommunications.
  • Extensive experience writing detailed Methods Of Procedures (MOP) and/or design documentation.
  • Strong technical and analytical experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications/presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot end to end call/traffic flows.
  • Experience with inter-connectivity architecture for IMS platforms and LTE mobile/wireless elements, including 3G/4G call flows.
  • CCIE level of certification.
