What you’ll be doing...

Every month, we analyze and audit vendor invoices utilizing automated and adhoc audit routines, as well as digital finance tools, to identify billing errors and dispute opportunities. Your ability to interpret contracts, tariffs, and FCC/regulatory orders will be vital to help us manage our relationships with the vendors. You’ll explain and document our position on disputes, and communicate and negotiate with vendors. This role will positively impact our financial margins, cash flow and ongoing partnership with our vendors.

  • Performing routine and other automated audits on invoices received from vendors and filing appropriate disputes.
  • Analyzing audit results and applying tariff / contract interpretation, legal guidance and FCC / Regulatory orders to support material disputes that are filed monthly.
  • Developing detailed supporting documentation and explanations to support material disputes regarding invoices.
  • Developing a baseline level of proficiency in the audit and analysis of invoice details, provisioning systems, network architecture, and the tariff/contractual terms that govern Verizon purchases.
  • Communicating and negotiating with vendors to effectively resolve BAU issues.

You’ll enjoy working on a team of dedicated individuals that analyze and audit telecom invoices, while making important decisions about financial impacts within the Invoice Validation team. You’ll be driven by a desire to find opportunities to make a financial impact, and deliver favorable results to Verizon’s bottom line.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS or in a business discipline.
  • Experience in contract / tariff interpretation and negotiation.
  • Organized and detail oriented, constantly driven to identify problems and suggest improvements in your area of work.
  • Ability to be resourceful, enjoy working independently to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
