What you’ll be doing...

Every month, we analyze and audit vendor invoices utilizing automated and adhoc audit routines, as well as digital finance tools, to identify billing errors and dispute opportunities. Your ability to interpret contracts, tariffs, and FCC/regulatory orders will be vital to help us manage our relationships with the vendors. You’ll explain and document our position on disputes, and communicate and negotiate with vendors. This role will positively impact both our financial margins, cash flow and ongoing partnership with our vendors.

  • Performing routine and advanced audits on invoices received from vendors and filing appropriate disputes.
  • Analyzing audit results and applying tariff / contract interpretation, legal guidance and FCC / Regulatory orders to support material disputes that are filed monthly.
  • Developing detailed supporting documentation and explanations to support material disputes regarding invoices.
  • Consulting with internal resources including Legal, Regulatory, Network Engineering and Carrier Management to support and resolve open disputes.
  • Exhibiting an advanced level of proficiency and interpretation in the audit and analysis of invoice details, provisioning systems, network architecture, and the tariff/contractual terms that govern Verizon purchases.
  • Developing queries / audits against large volumes of billing data to find possible erroneous billing elements / volumes based primarily off tariff / contract interpretation, automated matches to internal or industry data, or detailed calculations performed within the audit logic.
  • Communicating and negotiating with vendors to effectively resolve issues.
  • Participating in arbitration and legal proceedings by providing testimony if issues go to litigation.
  • Developing and mentoring others to build capabilities on the Invoice Validation team.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS or other business related field.
  • Experience in contract / tariff interpretation and negotiation.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
