What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Consumer Group GTS organization is forming a new Compliance & Audit PMO, responsible for the program management of technical design and implementation of various privacy related projects, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). CCPA is a top priority Enterprise program, enhancing the privacy rights of Verizon’s customers. The GTS Compliance & Audit PMO partners with Privacy, Legal, Business and GTS leads to help drive a Privacy by Design mindset including embedding privacy into design, operation of GTS systems and business practices.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing project plans specific to e2e architecture design, development and delivery. This includes defining data inventory guidelines, building tools for consumers and customer service, driving compliance tool development, helping application teams through implementation and driving long term compliance strategies. Working with SMEs to develop strategy and drive implementation of Consumer, Verizon Business Group, Toll Free customer access solutions. Provide support of 3rd party integration and ensure all GTS 3rd parties are compliant. The manager will also develop program plans to support custodian education, user data inventory, Personal Information Assessments, backend system integrations and long term governance processes.

  • Perform program management activities such as planning, sizing, staffing, scheduling as well as implementation activities.
  • Lead team members in selected project activities, and provide direction to staff members and peers.
  • Analyze and proactively manage problems and make decisions that impact overall system(s) and project(s) while acting independently.
  • Proactively identify and monitor risks and determine mitigation plans for GTS.
  • Collaborate with CISO, Legal etc. to update policies, privacy notices, GTS processes and systems and data strategies.
  • Deploy & lead role based training and change management across GTS to build awareness and engagement.
  • Set clear program scope, objectives and KPIs.
  • Develop program milestones and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Establish scope, risks and change management across multiple programs.
  • Provide executive level communication of program status and risks.
  • Oversee successfully delivery of CCPA program pillars
    • GTS system data inventory; Legal Personal Information Assessment completion and remediation.
    • Network, Business and 3rd party application integration with compliance supporting systems.
    • Drive requirements and implementation Toll free solutions.
    • Employee data compliance solution.
    • Verizon Business Group compliance solutions.
  • Manage program capital funding.

What we’re looking for...

We are looking for an energetic, motivated Leader to manage a team of technical project managers ensuring the timely delivery of multiple program pillars under current and future privacy programs. The position is highly visible and requires the aptitude to assemble complex enterprise wide compliance and audit programs, interacting with GTS, Legal, and Network and Business stakeholders.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Good leadership experience.
  • Agile mindset and experience applying Agile project methodology concepts.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA and Clarity.
  • Knowledge of security concepts (CISSP, CISM certification)PMP and/or SCRUM Master Certification.
  • Excellent communication skills, experience with communicating with high level executives including VPs and SVPs.
  • Ability to navigate in ambiguous environment.
  • Strong decision-making and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of wireless telecom business practices, including accounting, finance, revenue assurance, taxation, billing, customer care, legal, device management and network operations.
  • Excellent technical (e.g., systems design) and/or analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in PC, including desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Google tools like Sheets, Docs and Slides, etc.).
  • Excellent business knowledge and interpersonal skills.
