What you’ll be doing...

The primary purpose of this position is to be a functional leader, provide guidelines, recommendations and share best practices at the Territory level for large venues, Stadiums, Arenas, and other in building systems within the West territory.

  • Responsible for defining and creating Wes territory venue and in building design guidelines and recommendations for venues, stadiums, arenas and in building systems.
  • Responsible for writing multiple test plan documents and commissioning and optimization procedures for in building systems and large venues like Stadiums and arenas.
  • Working closely with device OEMs and HQ to help develop and implement new features to DAS systems, Ethernet based systems, DRAN and efemtos.
  • Drive the broader team understanding of new features in the in-building industry at a Territory level.
  • Provide leadership on technical analysis, troubleshooting, and training assistance to submarkets and markets as requested.
  • Establish process to take upcoming products from function based FOA to a user case based implementation guidelines that submarket teams can focus on executing.
  • Evaluate cost effective solutions and drive the implementation of those in the submarkets through effective guidelines, communication and training.
  • Take the lead and work with submarkets on important high profile events like Superbowl to make sure we are equipped to handle the load and user demands for these kinds of special events.
  • Take the lead on evaluation and trial of 5G technology and LTE advanced features for in building systems and large venues.
  • Continuously evaluate new products for iDAS, ODAS, 5G and other CAT5/6 based in-building solutions.
  • Work to establish a WIFI Strategy for deployments in large stadiums and arenas.
  • Interact professionally with customers (internal and external).
  • Take ownership of issues and drive them to resolution.
  • Self-motivated and efficient with minimal supervision.
  • Train other junior engineers in the team and play a mentor role.
  • Work well with colleagues and with various departments (Territory and HQ teams, Network RF/SP, Network Operations, Network Engineering, and Maintenance Engineering) and vendors as a team.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of wireless experience in a System Performance context-and-knowledge of LTE including VoLTE and RAN Networks.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of LAA, CBRS and 5G architecture.
  • Ability to understand, compile, evaluate, and present complex data and solutions.
  • Knowledge of major DAS systems like Commscope, Mobile Access, Solid and or JMA (Knowledge of CAT5/CAT6 based systems like Ericsson DOT and Spidercloud ).
  • Knowledge of IP and transport protocols.
  • Experience with at least one data collection tool such as Datapro, TEMS Symphony, etc.
  • Ibwave level 1 certification (Ibwave Level 2 or Level 3 certification).
  • Knowledge of propagation and optimization modeling tools such as Planet, Atoll,GeoPlan, ACP, DB Planner.
  • Knowledge of Ericsson-ALU systems including OSS.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP LTE standards.
  • Ability to differentiate and diagnose RAN and CORE related problems; understanding of Systems Engineering aspects related to RAN & proficiency in Core level call flow analysis. IMS understanding.
  • Strong statistical and analytical abilities.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis/post-processing tools such as Irisview, Windcatcher/Actix/TEMS Discovery.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and scripting tools.
