What you’ll be doing...

As our Repair Manager, you will manage the activities related to Verizon’s repair network including vendor selection, repair cost efficiency, identifying the optimal portfolio of models to be repaired, quality validation, device lifecycle planning, and oversight of metric development and management. This includes:

  • Coordinating with Inventory Control, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and the Centralized Return and Testing Center (CRTC).
  • Bridge communications on inventory, finance, operations, and quality-related issues specific to the device portfolio, and ensure continuous cost improvement initiatives.
  • Achieve operational and quality metrics (e.g., bounce, recovery yield, repair turnaround time, repair cost and device introduction and end-of-life management).
  • Provide reporting on metric compliance and performance.
  • Hold repair suppliers accountable for their performance, manage and maintain supplier scorecards, and partner with them to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Identify optimal repair strategies for each product line and associated repair suppliers.
  • Continually evaluate inventory levels and associated aging to manage costs while also reconciling inventory at the repair suppliers.
  • Review and approve repair invoices and provide guidance on potential issues and opportunities.
  • Work with the OEM account leads, Inventory Management, and Post-Sales Support to identify the ideal portfolio of models for the repair network.
  • Provide repair forecast and guidance to repair suppliers.
  • Establish quality guidelines and provide audits to validate compliance both from a 3PL and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) perspective.
  • Serve as the point of contact, as directly related to the repair suppliers, for all questions specific to inventory, quality, operational processes, metrics, or cost structure.
  • Serve as liaison between Finance and Device Quality and Repair for budgeting and cost performance.
  • Ensure device quality analysis and improvement.
  • Support key business transformation initiatives by monitoring and tracking cost savings and repair expense avoidance.
  • Review, reconcile, and approve repair invoices to identify discrepancies and opportunities while driving associated adjustments.
  • Develop strategies to drive cost reduction, including identifying revenue opportunities with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead process optimization for the multiple operations.
  • Proactively partner with key stakeholders to identify opportunities in the business.
  • Lead regular meetings to communicate plans with OEM, cross-functional operations, and demand planning.
  • Oversee all transition and transformational planning, execution, reporting, and related escalation management.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews while ensuring OEM reporting is accurate and timely.
  • Lead project management initiatives to support overall Device Supply Chain initiatives, including business transformation efforts.
  • Communicate regularly to senior leadership regarding operational updates and associated financial benefits.
  • Monitor monthly repair expense versus budget and developing actions to align expense with cost performance targets.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • MBA or proven work experience that required strong financial and business acumen.
  • Six or more years of relevant experiencein the wireless industry areas such as repair, supply chain operations, device quality, inventory management and metrics and process development.
  • Experience with returns processing and/or service and repair with strong competency in supply chain operations, program or process management, and metric development and oversight.
  • Device quality or engineering experience.
  • SAP experience.
  • Ability to solve cross-functional challenges with excellent analytical and OEM management skills.
  • Ability to negotiate business and technical terms, as well as key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Effective communication skills with the capability to clearly articulate a vision to a broad range of audiences.
  • Excellent forward thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while managing multiple deliverables simultaneously in a self-directed manner.
