What you’ll be doing...

You will explore what our people need to learn to be even better. Your programs and learning approaches will align with our business needs and be highly effective and in tune with our culture. You’ll design learning solutions that are engaging, fun and most importantly build those capabilities needed to enable our people to create the Verizon of the future.

  • Analyze needs, develop and administer budget and staffing recommendations, establish learning objectives, design, develop, market and deploy training programs and other learning and development services, and specialized workshops supporting the NOC.
  • Serve as a lead consultant to overall organization regarding learning and development competency demonstration.
  • Support and develop a site based network of contacts responsible for the daily administration of training efforts.
  • Research alternative learning delivery methods such as computer-based and satellite training programs. Recommend and implement programs which will meet the company's NOC learning and development needs. Work with appropriate business areas to implement and test technology. Market programs and reviews utilization records and participant evaluations.
  • Deliver train-the-trainer programs for division, department and job-specific trainers as identified throughout the organization.
  • Identify and implements competency models and recommends and deploys integrated learning and development tools and programs.
  • Serve as a primary contact and liaison for all internal and external audits regarding the effectiveness of training.
  • Monitor site-based training and competency demonstration records for effectiveness and troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, including domestic and international, on an annual basis.
  • Deliver quality classroom instruction, both in person and virtually.
  • Assist with on-going projects as requested.
  • Desire to excel in training and consulting
  • Provide timely feedback to executive leadership paired with recommended solutions for any hurdles encountered.
  • Maintain an interest in current industry trends.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience teaching within corporate settings to corporate end-users.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT/Engineering or equivalent field experience.
  • Experience managing training and certification teams for an IT, Software, Networks or Hardware Organization.
  • Implementation/Deployment/Development experience in relevant product areas.
  • A technical background in engineering or computer science.
  • Experience conducting training needs assessments and developing training plans.
