What you’ll be doing...

You’ll join the Network Equipment Repair Team where you will be responsible for overseeing third-party repair and warranty returns for network equipment. This equipment is reused throughout the network and allows for nearly three hundred million dollar in new purchase cost avoidance. You’ll be part of a team of individuals who work daily with OEMs, third party vendors, and engineering teams to process a high volume of repairs and improve quality to bolster network reliability. While maintaining day to day operations is imperative, you’ll also develop and manage large scale transformational projects/programs to transform the way we do business.

  • Partner with third parties to ensure repair capabilities for select network equipment.
  • Monitor vendor performance on a range of KPIs to measure on-time delivery and repair quality.
  • Issue RFPs for new equipment pricing and improvements over existing pricing.
  • Develop continuous improvement programs featuring quarterly business reviews and other periodic check-ins to foster an environment of constant communication and collaboration.
  • Process and track repair orders through the 3rd party repair process
  • Continue ongoing programs to provide better visibility into repair orders.
  • Coordinate with warehouse to resolve receiving and shipping issues
  • Enhance current systems to allow for repair order process automation and reduce manual efforts.
  • Develop management-by-exception tools by utilizing technology to flag data abnormalities.
  • Benchmark Verizon to other vendors in and out of industry using metrics such as TL9000.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to ensure current and future needs are met.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of transformative programs.
  • Continually improve knowledge base of network equipment and repair capabilities.
  • Work with field teams to effectively communicate proper handling for equipment based on vendor feedback.
  • Request and maintain purchase orders for all repair vendors and OEM's.
  • Identify and execute re-certification of returned decommissioned assets from the field.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams on planned decoms to ensure proper treatment of decommissioned assets
  • Lead monthly process and data improvement calls with the Verizon warehouse.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Experience managing vendors, issuing RFPs and negotiating contract terms like pricing.
  • Experience with ERP and/or inventory tracking/planning systems, such as SAP, PeopleSoft, CATS, COEP, etc.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or in a related field.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Results oriented and deadline driven mindset.
  • Program/project management success.
  • Reverse supply chain and/or repair experience.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple cross functional teams on many different ongoing projects at the simultaneously.
  • Personality and character to foster a firm but fair relationship with our external vendors and OEMs.
