What you’ll be doing...

As our Senior Manager of Digital Finance and Analytics, you’ll be leading a team of employees and will be responsible for implementing and managing the digital strategy within our Global Accounts Payable organization. You’ll manage day to day strategy implementation, agenda setting, and be responsible for coaching, mentoring and providing direction to employees. In this role, you’ll work closely with Accounts Payable management/staff, other Finance departments, Business operations groups and IT within Verizon as well as managing the relationship and providing excellent customer service to internal Verizon customers as we evolve within Verizon 2.0. You’ll be asked to continuously review the landscape for the best available tools and procedures to ensure we are in a strategic position to push process improvement and operation optimization. In this role, you will also be responsible for working closely with and supporting other AP groups as they continuously look to improve automation and analytics to support decision making and building efficiencies in their functional areas. This position will report to the Associate Director of Digital Finance, Audit, Period End and Reporting.

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business or MIS; or equivalent work experience.
  • Five or more years of experience managing in a large, multi-national publicly traded organization.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while developing and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with current digital tools, including but not limited to RPA, BI, visualization tools and software automation.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging processes, behaviors, technologies, and benchmarking that impact Accounts Payable Operations.
  • Advanced working knowledge of financial systems and accounting fundamentals.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Accounts Payable systems, preferably SAP and PeopleSoft.
  • Experience in establishing or enhancing business policies and process re-engineering.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work and interact with departments and multiple levels of management throughout the organization.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master’s degree.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Accounts Payable systems, preferably SAP and PeopleSoft.
  • Certification such as Certified Public Accountant, Certified Accounts Payable Professional, or Project Management Professional.
  • Results oriented, a strong sense of urgency, proactive and flexible.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to effectively formulate and communicate complex ideas.
  • Demonstrated skill in crafting high-quality presentations for both internal and external use.
  • Effective decision-making ability to drive strategic results.
  • Superior quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills and comfortable in a data-driven business environment.
  • Active leadership – the ability to partner with and influence various functional leaders across an organization.
  • Ability to adapt easily to new procedures, policies and systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
