What you’ll be doing...

As the Manager of Systems Engineering you will be responsible for overseeing the team in creating and maintaining a global address platform to be used across all Verizon Lines of Business (LOB’s). Locus is a master address database with an objective to build a repository of location and asset data for US business and residential locations. You will leverage your extensive experience in Master Data Management, and be responsible for leading and enhancing this Information management initiative. You will provide direction to champion the team pertaining to communication of the value of data governance, data quality, and MDM to stakeholders as well as provide education of data governance while increasing the organization's data literacy. This entails serving as the primary point of responsibility, accountability, and activity monitoring as it relates to the assessment, improvement, and governance of data quality and ongoing fitness-for-purpose of the organization’s critical information assets.

You will oversee design to support diverse data sets. You will lead a team focused on service Verizon Consumer, Enterprise business units. The data will cover address, polygon, GIS and service qualification data for IEN, Fiber, 5G, and all the existing products. The address data covers service qualification, service intelligence and service location data for macro satellites, cell towers, macro and microcell sites, electric poles, and US and non-US residential and Enterprise customers. The products need to be architected, designed to meet the needs of the business over the next decade.

You will be responsible to direct the team in analyzing technological trends, continuously evaluate new data sets; setup proof of concepts with vendors. Will develop strategies for application leads to support growth opportunities for data products. Ensure that these team strategies remain current on all consumer and enterprise products and services, industry and competitive trends, and reinforce findings with the team. You will manage a Global Team to meet all timelines of releases follows yearly audit and security requirements. Accountable for achieving yearly milestones, driving growth with innovative products and services. Responsible for ongoing IT training initiatives across Agile, Device and Transformation initiatives. Lead meetings with potential and existing stakeholders to establish strong working relationships and promote mobilization efforts. Manages mobility and innovation presentations and summits.

You will oversee the creation of an ecosystem of service qualification, service intelligence, and service location will require setup partnerships with vendors and our internal stakeholders. Ensure the team establishes strong vendor partnerships both with companies and consulting agencies to deliver a best-in-class Service qualification and intelligence engine.

You will recommend, and provide oversight in the development, and implementation of process improvements and will also manage team resolutions regarding customer complaints in a timely manner.

  • Be responsible for the creation of ecosystems for future Verizon products such as IEN, OneFiber, and 5G: The product should support 5G service-driven architecture as well as IEN and Fiber components. The driving force behind the network architecture transformation includes complex networks incorporating multiple services, standards, and site types.
  • Serve as lead architect and manage the development and designing of the cloud-enabled platform: The product will be built on the cloud-native architecture and developed using the scaled agile framework to meet network 99999 availability.

In this role you will effectively apply (in a team setting) data governance, data quality, and master data management concepts; familiar with data quality reporting methodologies and capabilities. Experience in MDM, Data Governance, Information Governance, and Data Architecture, Data Quality, Change Management.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Cloud native technologies and stacks.
  • Experience leading a governance, R&D or similar type functions.
  • Willingness to travel

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Extensive knowledge of Big Data stacks.
  • MDM certifications.
  • AWS certification.
  • Knowledge application of AWS Cloud, micro-services, Data Quality. Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project, Project Server/Project Online, Power BI or other BI software.
  • The ability to manage ecosystems of service qualification, service intelligence, and service location.
  • Ability to manage operating budget and reports.
  • Familiarity with wireline and wireless network technologies.
  • Solid strategic leadership abilities, in addition the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audience. Strong communicator and presenter.
