What you’ll be doing...

The role is to be part of the Security Assurance team at one or more of our larger Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Customers. These Customers typically already have one or more Verizon managed service and the GRC Security Assurance team provide an Information Security overlay to the Verizon teams in order to ensure we meet any security related Customer contractual requirements. The role will involve working with multiple internal (Verizon) teams as well as directly with the Customer. As such some Customer site visits are usual, although the frequency and location will vary for each Customer. Although part of a larger team, you will be expected to sometimes work on your own on specific projects to develop agreed documentation or other deliverables. Finally, you should expect the role to be challenging as our internal and external Customers expect us to meet or exceed their expectations. As such you will need to be aware of trends in Information Security and industry best practice.

As a member of this team you will be assisting with one or more of the following activities, under the direction of a Principal Consultant:

  • Developing and maintaining internal GRC processes and supporting artifacts to support the Customer and associated Verizon teams in their Information Security Management System (ISMS);
  • Reviewing customer information security policies, standards and procedures and mapping these to the Verizon policies, identifying where there is a potential mismatch;
  • Maintaining details of the compliance of the Verizon managed environment against the agreed set of policies, standards and processes (for example following the agreed Joiners/Movers/ Leaver processes);
  • Assisting with security reviews on Customer managed systems and their third party suppliers (if required);
  • Assisting with the Security Risk Review processes and associated reporting (Verizon and Customer);
  • Assisting with Privacy Impact Assessments and related identification of personal information within the environment;
  • Assisting with the Security Awareness training for Verizon personnel accessing the Customer environment (where required), and;
  • Ad hoc supporting activities, as directed by the Principal Consultant.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in working with the Verizon teams typically involved in GID projects
  • An Information Security qualification such as AICPA, CISSP or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor.
  • Experience in working in a complex technical customer facing environment
  • Experience in working with an ISMS.
  • Ability to be able to work both as a member of the team and independently.
  • Knowledge of basic Information Security concepts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and through written means using standard office products.
