What you’ll be doing...

We are seeking an experienced supply chain Business Intelligence (BI) Manager with proven track record to define, develop, simplify and automation the data acquisition to enhance the BI capabilities for the Global Supply Chain organization. You will be familiar with Verizon's data infrastructure, responsible for defining the BI architecture, automate data extraction and simplify BI ecosystem, as well as, manage key reporting and analytics initiatives, develop data models and enable self-service capabilities. You will be responsible for delivering end to end BI solutions by leading design and development, partner with IT to identify the policies, processes, systems & data requirements to launch reporting and BI.

  • Establish Business Intelligence (BI), data acquisition and reporting for the Global Supply Chain organization. Design and develop the BI analytics strategy by defining BI architecture including back end Database technology, ETL capability, data quality and data visualization using tools such as Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata, SAP BW/HANA, Oracle SuperCluster, Hadoop, Alteryx, SSIS, AWS Redshift and Tableau/Qlik. Provide the program management and business direction to IT, Analytics teams and the business users on all aspects of reporting, including guidance on building of practices, policies and procedures for data model development, data governance, data acquisition and Data Quality.
  • Lead and coordinate the effort to manage the incoming report and analytics requests, be able to prioritize requests, build a prototype for the proposed solution, identify key resources needed for report creation and coordinate the implementation of BI projects in partnership with IT.
  • Manage large BI and Data Analytics projects from requirement gathering, designing technical solution, implementing data pipelines, managing and mentoring data engineers and bringing industry expertise. Lead design and development of data/dimensional modeling by applying Kimball Methodologies and star schema. Design and develop ETL models using SSIS/Alteryx. Effectively report status of the project to leadership. Establish guidelines and set the BI and analytics standards to ensure reports are using the standardized data sources, drive a consistent look and feel across the organization.
  • Manage and provide training for the BI tools and support for the users when needed to help them get connected to systems. As well as, establish and monitor the measures for success of the BI strategy.
  • Work with rest of reporting and analytics teams to develop requirements for BI, develop architecture and coordinate with IT to build infrastructure.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience managing business intelligence tools and technologies.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience working with various database/big data technologies such as: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop, AWS Red Shift.
  • Experience building reports and interactive dashboards using Tableau, Qlik or PowerBI.
  • Experience in dimensional modeling, ETL and relational database development and OLAP technologies.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree or Master’s degree with focus on Computer Science, Technology, Business Intelligence/data science or Supply chain.
  • Certified Business Intelligence Professional.
  • Strong program/project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Kimball methodology for establishing data modeling.
  • SQL, Tableau or Hadoop certification.
  • Experience influencing others to make decisions and take actions aimed at achieving common objectives that ultimately benefit the entire enterprise.
