What you’ll be doing...

This role is a high profile position within the Device Marketing organization that is responsible for applying unique sets of variables and use of forecasting models to accurately develop a demand forecast for all Accessory SKUs in the Wireless Business. Forecasting requires the interpretation of current business strategies in a highly dynamic environment. This position will interact heavily with Accessory Procurement (SCM), Product Management, Pricing, Promotion, Planogram, Device Strategy and multiple OEM’s to maintain sales forecasts with industry-leading accuracy. This role is critical to influence the prediction of costs, strategy effectiveness, inventory levels and impacts of the broader business. Strong communication and presentation skills are important in this position. The accessory forecasting consultant should also be detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. They must pay close attention to market trends and seasonality when developing forecasts.

  • Developing, maintaining, utilizing, and validating accurate sales forecasts used to calculate purchases of all devices from all vendors.
  • Working with Supply Chain Management to assist with inventory level optimization, excessive inventory management and product allocations to channels.

  • Supporting launch teams to inform of any supply issues that may impact a successful launch.

  • Providing reports to the entire device marketing organization, developing new reports and adding analysis when possible.

  • Reviewing and updating forecasts for all promotional activities (i.e. device promotions and pricing changes, FSIs and ad tracker).

  • Maintaining kitting file (manual entries).

  • Providing continual updates and an open line of communication with the supply chain team responsible for purchasing.

  • Analyzing and forecasting accessories in the current line-up.

  • Forecasting analysis being performed by two forecasting leads.

  • Allocating additional time and attention to improve forecast accuracy.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in product forecasting.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Understanding of sophisticated forecasting models.
  • Analytical thinking capability with the ability to triangulate multiple data points that translate into a quantitative sales forecast.
  • Strong interest in wireless industry news and reports to help formulate context for the forecast.
  • Background in sales, marketing, supply chain, pricing, and promotions, or a combination thereof.
  • Ability to create executive reporting around status, recommendations and future plans.
  • Extensive device product knowledge.
  • Strong organizational, communication and negotiation skills in order to lead cross functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Retail sales or management experience.
