What you’ll be doing...

As a Security Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of projects and/or programs, including fulfillment of the client business and technical requirements and adhering to approved project scope and budget. The role is exclusively client facing and includes the following responsibilities:

  • On-time, on-budget delivery within the Security Assurance practice, with a focus on T&V, GRC, CRP and PCI offerings.
  • Executing projects according to the Verizon Delivery Methods, centered on the PMI delivery model.
  • Partnering with client stakeholders while consistently demonstrating knowledge of the client business/industry and knowledge of Verizon’s Professional Services offerings.
  • Own and be held accountable for the delivery of all aspects of project management (e.g., Statements of Work, requirements development, scope management, schedule development, managing, and tracking).

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or four years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience managing Security projects (e.g., threat and vulnerability assessment, penetration testing).
  • Experience managing projects using standard project management processes and principles.
  • Experience managing a remote workforce and leveraging resources across multiple business and technical silos.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in a prior role where managing projects was a primary responsibility.
  • Experience working with external clients in a Professional Services type organization, preferably with some type of consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of and skill in managing the five phases of a project life cycle (i.e., Initiation, Planning, Execution, Controlling, and Closing).
  • Four to six years of experience working within an information security environment.
  • Extensive client and team management experience strongly.
  • Detail orientation and the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and represent oneself as a project delivery leader.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger project team as required.
