What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Product Development Manager for SMB is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of the small business digital platform. The candidate will lead the organization in the research of digital technology capabilities and impacts to the end-to-end customer experience design. The role requires collaboration with the Senior Product Manager of Business Products and other teams – including Network, Technology, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Legal – to create and execute a strategic roadmap that delivers a digital-first customer experience.

The Senior Product Manager evaluates the potential of features in development and relies on extensive experience and practical judgment to plan, track, and accomplish goals against aggressive timelines. The candidate will lead a team of technical product managers, who interact with all levels of the organization, in an environment that requires high collaboration and creative problem solving. Additionally, the role requires the ability to manage matrixes teams, evaluate user requirements, and match experience designs with business considerations, such as revenue goals, cost limitations, and time and resource constraints.

This is a key leadership role that requires activities to define, deliver, maintain, and enhance the digital platform. This is an opportunity to enable an innovative, digital-first customer experience and deliver a purpose-built portfolio of solutions for the small business segment.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic thought leader, closely collaborating with business teams to define our strategic roadmap to further the maturity of our SMB product offerings and digital-first customer experience.
  • Champion integrated SMB solutions driving efficiency and a seamless customer experience.
  • Translate the strategy into a delivery roadmap and guide Agile delivery teams to execute.
  • Advocate a holistic approach that improves the efficiency of people, process, and technology.
  • Monitor performance, analyze reporting, and create proposals to ensure key goals are met.
  • Develop and present relevant metrics (goals), methodology, and reporting.
  • Participate in the preparation of business cases including return on investment (ROI) analysis.
  • Prepare and manage an annual capital and expense budget.
  • Develop, acquire, and preserve a high performance team. Manage and develop the team, including hiring, goal setting, performance management, coaching, projects, and training.
  • Be a subject matter expert in the business, digital, and technology space by maintaining current industry knowledge and best practices.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in wide range of customer experience with expertise in Content Management, eCommerce, Mobility, Customer Relationship Management, Quote to Cash, Lean/Agile/Design Thinking; current on technology trends, strengths and weaknesses, and growth opportunities.
  • Experience in strong decision making skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency; demonstrates integrity and maturity, and a constructive approach to challenges; self-starter with ability to be productive in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction; proven track record of delivering large scale, high throughput platforms on time and on budget.
  • Ability to develop repeatable processes or improve existing processes in and out of product development; outstanding analytical skills and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to push projects to launch with continuous planning and relentless execution, understands how to align resources, seek stakeholder input, and manage others to achieve desired results; ability to forge strong relationships with both IT (web, ops, development, etc.) and business (PLM, Marketing, Metrics, Legal, Testing, etc.) teams; experience aligning development timelines against detailed technical requirements.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and challenged to determine the best solution; demonstrated collaborative and consensus building strengths; must have the ability to consistently and collaboratively resolve issues, mitigate roadblocks, and align team.
  • Experience with agile software development and a comprehensive understanding of development requirements; knowledge integration of complex development stacks; teamwork mentality & velocity improvement mindset.
  • Ability to understand of creation, modification, identification, and definition of various users content needs, with ability to align development accordingly.
  • Knowledge of mobile app development, integration of multiple apps and use cases, alignment of capabilities and customer experience when using multiple apps for a solution with multiple products/services.
  • Experience in Testing - UAT & Customer: detailed understanding of code requirements for successful management of testing output, familiarity with & understanding of the differences between both internal code test and customer/end user testing, and ability to prioritize defects for resolution.
  • Experience with design and features that allow for seamless customer experiences, visual communication skills, and ability to distinguish between mobile app, mobile browser, and desktop design.
  • Experience with user interactions that impact designs, and detailed understanding of technical back-end requirements needed to support UI/UX flows.
  • Team player and leader who can effectively handle multiple priorities; ability to manage internal and external relationships up to senior levels of management; experience leading a team across multiple geographic locations.
  • Strong communication (verbal/written) skills; storytelling and executive presentation experience.
