What you’ll be doing...

You will represent Network Planning as part of the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) team. This team is responsible to input Network Planning IT requirements into the SAFe IT process to get scheduled and worked.

In particular, in the Product Manager role you will understand and bring infrastructure detailed requirements, and work with IT Architecture, Engineering, and Service Assurance to drive those requirements into IT for development. This includes defining Features to be completed in a Program Increment cycle. Features include description, acceptance criteria, and business benefit.

Additional duties will be to manage and prioritize flow of work, and provide content authority for the SAFe iEN Program Backlog. Participate in demos and approve features for release into production network. Finally, participate in Program Increment planning, presenting the program vision and roadmap to Product Owners and development teams.

Willingness to travel for two--three day trips per quarter.

What we’re looking for...

You’re an organized, detail-oriented project leader that can engage many people across multiple organizations. As a conceptual thinker who sees the big picture, you can knit ideas together to create compelling and cohesive features and user stories.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Network Planning or Engineering
  • Willingness to travel (25% or less).

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Computer science, Computer Engineering or any other related field.
  • A Master’s degree.
  • Planning, architecture, product development, or program management experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of Verizon data networks such as: CPA, SES, Converged Core, PIP, Public IP and/or MPLS.
  • Experience with Verizon Data Network.
  • Detailed knowledge of Cisco and/or Juniper MSE.
  • Experience in software and product life cycle and corresponding processes.
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects from concept to implementation.
  • Experience with agile software development.
  • Knowledge of Verizon Infrastructure back office systems such as: ICON, Nautilus, CoFEE, Provisioning Gateway
  • Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Strong written/verbal communications and presentation skills.
